I’m Żmija, a simple pagan from Poland, currently following the Rodnovery path and occupying myself with witchcraft as I go. I have a lot to learn left, but I’m doing my best to help others and open their eyes and hearts to the faith and tradition of my ancestors.

slavic silesian sapphic serpent. bitter, undead, always in love.

what I love (you’ll find it on my blog): slavic mythology, witchcraft, folklore, bitter vague posting about my country, girls, creatures with more eyes than they should have. occasionally nsfw.

what I hate (you won’t find it here): any sort of white power and nazi content, fascist discourse, straight-up porn with “slavic” tag. terfs fuck off.

are you Wiccan?: no.

Żmija, what does that name mean? - it’s not my given name, of course, but it’s what my friends and fellow pagans call me, and I’ve learned to embrace it. It means “viper” but really, in my native language it has way more meaning to it. It’s closely connected to Żmij, the slavic dragon. Also, the common adder, Poland’s only venomous snake, is the animal that accompanies me from the very beginning of my path and I have a great sentiment for it. And I love snakes.

Which Deities do you follow/worship? - I focus mainly on Veles and Morana, but I’m devoted to the Old Faith as whole as well - including all its gods, spirits and creatures. I started off a worhipper of Loki, but I decided to follow the path of my ancestors and focus on the faith that is a great part of my heritage. However, my heart still aches for old bonds, and I’m strongly interested in Asatru and Rokkatru as well.

recently my worship has been mainly focused on The Mothers - that is, Mokosh and Morana, as well as Veles, Perun, and Svarog. I am a shameless sun worshipper after all.

Is slavic paganism/rodnovery a closed religion? Do I have to be of slavic heritage to be a part of it? - I think I did my best to answer this question in this post .
