This paper describes a tuning for PID controller based on a trial and error method. The algorithm... more This paper describes a tuning for PID controller based on a trial and error method. The algorithm is applied to a computer based single-input single-output (SISO) on air conditioning (AC). Some experiments are conducted to observe the ability of the controller in the temperature control of SISO AC under set-point changes. The controller gains to obtain a good response of the room temperature and optimum energy consumption for the system studied were found to be 3.3, 0.180 and 0.040 for the proportional, integral and derivative terms, respectively. The experimental results prove that the controller is capable of giving a good control result for the process.

The hydrocarbon used in this study was a mixture of propane (R290), butane (R600), and isobutane (R600a), and was called HC-22. The aircrafts are moved using tow cars in and out of the hangar. The hangar is so big that it requires columns for its structure and these columns present risk to the aircrafts for having wingtip collitions during towing in and out of the hangar. In this study, warning system for aircraft wingtip proximity to the hangar columns is designed. This warning system is using ultrasonic sensors attached to the columns and controlled by Arduino micro processor and wirelessly connected as Internet of Things system to warn the driver of the tow car. Operation of this excavator requires a fuel tank for refueling process. In many cases, there were fuel thefts from the fuel tank of this excavator because the excavator were located in remote area. To overcome this problem, it is necessary to develop a fuel monitoring tool that can monitor and send warnings to the excavator owner if there is any fuel access into the excavator fuel tank during the rest time of the excavator. The monitoring tool is developed by using a NODEMCU ESP8266 microcontroller that connected to the internet network so that it will be able to communicate with the Thingspeak webserver. With internet access, the monitoring process can be carried out by using a computer and also smart mobile phone.

This study aims to determine the condition of the coolant flow and monitor thermostat performance while engine is running so thermostat failure can be detected earlier. In this study, an ultrasonic flow meter to measure coolant flow rate in the diesel engine cooling system was developed and the measurement is displayed for monitoring the condition of thermostat. The monitoring system has been installed and the results showed significant relationship between the coolant flow rate and the performance of the thermostat. The operation and energy consumption of the system operated as either with the new control system or with the traditional on/off control were compared. Measurements were taken during the experimental period at a time interval of one minute for a set point temperature of 22 and 23o C. The room temperature, energy consumption and energy-saving ware analyzed. The main objective is to determine the amount of energy saved when a digital on/off and fuzzy logic controller is applied to the air-conditioning system. The experimental results show that significant energy savings of approximately 24 to 43% for digital on/off and 48 to 73% for fuzzy logic control were obtained. One circuit of the system can have been varying speed in order to fine-tune the cooling response time as the cooling load varies inside bus cabin. Variable-speed compressor provides potential on the load-matching capability, energy saving and thermal comfort of the passengers inside bus cabin. The experiments were conducted on a test rig with temperature setting of 22°C for the conditioned space to evaluate the energy usage of the system with thermostat and fuzzy logic (FLC) controllers. If the refrigerant temperature in the condenser exit is further cooled to the subcooled region results in an increase in the cooling capacity due to low vapor quality of refrigerant entering the evaporator. The lower the refrigerant quality entering the evaporator, the higher the cooling capacity on the evaporator. The increase in the cooling capacity enhances the freezer performance. The operation and energy consumption of the system operated as either with the new control system or with the traditional on/off control were compared. Measurements were taken during the experimental period at a time interval of one minute for a set point temperature of 22 and 23o C. The room temperature, energy consumption and energy-saving ware analyzed. The main objective is to determine the amount of energy saved when a digital on/off and fuzzy logic controller is applied to the air-conditioning system. The experimental results show that significant energy savings of approximately 24 to 43% for digital on/off and 48 to 73% for fuzzy logic control were obtained. The system work dependent on the cooling load either one or more circuits will automatically be switched on. One circuit of the system can have been varying speed in order to fine-tune the cooling response time as the cooling load varies inside bus cabin. Variable-speed compressor provides potential on the load-matching capability, energy saving and thermal comfort of the passengers inside bus cabin. The experiments were conducted on a test rig with temperature setting of 22°C for the conditioned space to evaluate the energy usage of the system with thermostat and fuzzy logic (FLC) controllers. Untuk meningkatkan produktivitas air bersih, diletakkan bahan penyimpan panas pada basin bagian bawah. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan pemakaian stainlees steel sebagai penyimpan panas dapat menghasilkan produktivitas air bersih lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan bahan penyimpan panas dari seng dan aluminium.

In a simple cycle of the VCRC, refrigerant in the condenser exit is at liquid saturated line. If the refrigerant temperature in the condenser exit is further cooled to the subcooled region results in an increase in the cooling capacity due to low vapor quality of refrigerant entering the evaporator. The lower the refrigerant quality entering the evaporator, the higher the cooling capacity on the evaporator. The increase in the cooling capacity enhances the freezer performance. Subcooling uses liquid suction heat exchanger (LSHX) is applied to transfer heat from the exit of the condenser (liquid line) to the suction of the compressor.
