Colorado poet laureate, from Denver, Colo. Son of William and Alice Ferril. Began his career at Great Mountain Sugar Company and worked as a journalist for Denver, Colo. newspapers and editor of the Rocky Mountain Herald. Received many awards for poetry and other writings. Married to Helen Drury Ray. Thomas Hornsby Ferril was called the "most honored poet of the Rocky Mountain West."
