Painter; Boston, Mass.

Born Susan Marcia Oakes. She was a student of painter Charles Woodbury in 1888 in Boston in his School Street studio. They were married in June 1890, and went on their first European trip in August to continue their art studies. Much of their married life was spent abroad in Holland. She is known for her studies of Dutch children. According to a date handwritten on her obituary, she died on November 13, 1913. A memorial exhibition of Woodbury's work was held at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston in April, 1914.
