Charles Kittel is an Emeritus Professor of Physics at University of California, Berkeley (1978-present). Other institutional affiliations include Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the United States Navy, and Bell Laboratories. He is well-known for writing the book entitled "Introduction to Solid State Physics."
