Literary critic of New York City, and author of fiction and non-fiction works; native of Charleston, S.C.; between 1945 and 1962 Molloy published ten novels, some in the comedy-of-manners genre as well as a work of S.C. history: Charleston: A Gracious Heritage (1947); works of fiction include Pride's Way (1945); Uneasy Spring (1946); The Reunion (1959); and other novels.
