Telamon Cuyler (1873-1951) was born Telamon Cruger Smith, but legally changed his name. He was born in Rome, Georgia, and died on his plantation at Wayside in Jones County, Georgia. Cuyler earned his law degree at the University of Georgia and was a well-known historian and collector.
