Edward Francis Coffin (1873-1949) was born in Nashua, N.H., and died in Worcester, Mass. He graduated from Wesleyan University in 1895 and joined his father's Worcester firm, E. W. Coffin Company, which sold store fixtures. Coffin was also a successful book dealer. He was Secretary of the Worcester Historical Society, and gave many pamphlets, rare books, and manuscripts to the American Antiquarian Society.
