Painter; Ellenville, New York. E.L. Henry was an American genre artist, specializing in transportation subjects. His career is documented in the book, THE LIFE AND WORK OF EDWARD LAMSON HENRY by Elizabeth McCausland, 1945.

Henry was a painter of American historical themes. His particular themes concentrated on transporation especially early railroads. In 1859 Henry married Francis Livingston Wells of Johnstown, N.Y., where he is buried. In 1869 Henry was elected a National Academician in the National Academy of Design.
