Annie 2 opened for previews at the Kennedy Center's Opera House, Washington, D.C., Dec.22, 1989. It closed in early Jan., 1990, when the producers decided it would need further development before resuming performances. It was not produced again until 1993 with the title Annie Warbucks. After workshops at Goodspeed Opera House, East Haddam, Conn, there was an Off-Broadway production at the Variety Arts Theatre, New York, N.Y., where it ran for 200 performances.
