Journalist.
MacAlarney was a reporter and then City Editor, NEW YORK EVENING POST, 1906-1911; and NEW YORK TRIBUNE, 1914-1916. He was scenario editor and production manager for Famous-Players-Lasky. He was also associate professor of Journalism at Columbia University, 1919-1920, and managing editor of the LADIES' HOME JOURNAL, 1923-1928.
