George Wolfe Plank (1883-1963), illustrator, was a self-taught artist and from 1907-09 was one of the editors and printers of The Butterfly Quarterly, published in Philadelphia. In 1916 he moved to England and became a naturalized British citizen in 1945. He supplied illustrations for Vogue and for books of friends, like The Freaks of Mayfair (1916) by E. F. Benson and Hedgehog (1926) by H. D.
