Lucy Aikin, historian, known for her works on the courts of Queen Elizabeth and King James I, and a biograophy of Joseph Addison. She wrote the only contemporary sources for the lives of her famous relatives, father John Aikin and aunt Anna Letitia Barbauld. A volume of her letters, showing her to be an advocate of women's rights and religious freedoms, was published posthumously.
