Lucien Thompson, the son of Ebenezer Thompson (1821-1869), was educated in Manchester, N.H. In 1878 he returned to Durham, took charge of the Thompson farm, was active in public affairs, and conducted historical and genealogical research. He was also a trustee of the New Hampshire College of Agriculture and the Mechanic Arts. In 1912 or 1913 he moved to Colorado, where he died in 1924.
