Almy was a prominent Bostonian who was the daughter of Samuel and Hannah Lowell (Jackson) Cabot, and the wife of a judge, Charles Almy. A member of the Mothers' Club of Cambridge, she was active in the establishment of playgrounds and vacation schools in Cambridge from 1899 to 1910, when the city took over the program.
