Abstract

Saying his chicanery is gradually becoming unbearable, that in a performance of Tod und Verklärung at the Opernhaus he had the most work erasing all the corrections and markings in the parts into which the honorable conductors placed them and which were passed around; Strauss's letter is on the fourth page of a three-page letter form Göllerich to Strauss, dated Linz Jan. 3 1901, saying that he plans to open the first Upper Austria music festival with Tod und Verklärung, explaining that Aibl will rent the parts for only four weeks, asking if Strauss can arrange with Aibl for the parts to be rented until 26 March, etc.
