Charles James McDonald (1793-1860) graduated at South Carolina College in 1816 and was admitted to the bar in 1817. He served in the Georgia Assembly and was elected governor of Georgia in 1839. Robert Flournoy (1763-1825) was born in Virginia. He married Mary Willis Cobb in 1794. Flournoy was a Captain in the 1st Georgia regiment of the Continental Army during the Revolutionary War.
