In order to perpetuate Edward Johnson's work and support for young musicians and music teachers in the Guelph region, a group of his friends established "The Edward Johnson Music Foundation" in 1957. It raised funds to support musical groups in Guelph and then in 1968 launched "The Guelph Spring Festival". James L. Campbell (1913-1998) was a doctor in Orlando, Florida. He graduated from the University of Georgia in 1936. He and a friend, Jerry Ross, went on safari in the Central African Republic in February and March of 1963. Claude Vasselet was their white hunter.
