Abstract

This scrapbook created by Mary Marguerite Kane contains photographs, clippings, notes, schedules, programs, and other memorabilia from Kane's time as a Penn State student and as an alumna. Subjects include social events such as dances and trips, campus buildings, the 1919 commencement ceremony, the dedication of the Home Economics Building in 1932, the 1955 Centennial, and her 60th reunion in 1979.

The Pennsylvania Humanities Council designated the year 1985 as "The Year of the Pennsylvania Writer." The PHC funded projects in eight locations throughout the Commonwealth to gain appreciation, understanding, and recognition for past and present Pennsylvania writers. Mary Marguerite Kane was from Howard, Pennsylvania, and graduated from Penn State College in 1919 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Home Economics. She later married Jason B.
