It is influenced by the factors such as aesthetic value of art, the use of appropriate color combinations, etc. achieved through the elements of art. This article is aimed at introducing the definitions of art according to different artists, the importance of the elements, and types. Furthermore, the application, uses and examples of elements will also be discussed while drawing attention towards the role of artists by the end. In the final analysis of the article the conclusion from the study of art elements and role of the artists will be considered.

Every design begins with great inspiration. One of the inspirations is architectural styles of buildings that strive to preserve the cultural heritage of an entire civilization. In combination with other work on inspiration, these findings can help shape how design is taught and how inspiration tools are developed. This is a study conducted to understand the different motifs, colours, interior and intricate designs used in decorating Taj Mahal. The jali lattice, floral motifs on makrana marbles have been inspiration for designing products.

The development of antibacterial treatment on cotton fabric using Aloe Vera extract with differen... more The development of antibacterial treatment on cotton fabric using Aloe Vera extract with different finishing methods is a well-researched topic. Aloe Vera because of its rich constituents has been used in medical as well as cosmetic since ancient time. It was proved that the active ingredients of Aloe Vera are attached with the hydroxyl groups of cotton fabric via carboxylic acid cross linking agent through infrared spectra system. The objective of this study was to review previous research done by using Aloe Vera as an ingredient to improve antibacterial properties of textile material. Aloe Vera [Aloe Barbadensis Miller] was processed through hand filtered or whole leaf procedure to prepare Aloe Vera extract. Aloe Vera extract was applied on Cotton fabrics by pad-dry-cure method in different concentrations from 60%-100% for 35-60 mins at 60-80 Degree Centigrade. The antibacterial activity of Aloe Vera finished cotton fabric were qualitatively evaluated by AATCC [Agar diffusion] method and quantitative analysis test methods by most authors. The Aloe Vera extract treated cotton fabric exhibited antimicrobial activity against E. coli and S. aureus. It also found that it improves some other properties like odor control, softness and comfort. Even the washing durability showed the good results.

The present study aims to understand the requirements of the consumers, their preferences, their buying behaviour, their eco-concerns & consumer satisfaction. To know whether there is a need for a change in the existing home furnishings with particular reference to bed sheets used by consumers. A survey design was used and responses were gathered through structured questionnaire method. With the help of technological advancement researchers can bring about innovation in fabrics. The purpose of the study is to investigate the technology that can be used for application of functional finishes on fabrics. This review paper investigates the techniques applied in the formation of the microcapsules, its purpose, and method of application for fixing it on textiles, the binders and polymers used and release of aroma. There are various release mechanisms which can be applied as per the requirement or end use. The essential oils used are highly volatile in nature hence very difficult to maintain the durability of the finish in terms of storage and washability. In this review, microencapsulation techniques of application to obtain innovative fabrics for the textile sector has been highlighted.

such as antiviral, antifungal, antibacterial, antimicrobial, and aroma which can be used for
value addition on cotton sheeting. Since bed linens are typically made of cotton sheeting
fabrics and are used not only in homes but also hotels and hospitals hence value addition is
crucial for peaceful sleep. However, these extracts may already be loaded with various types
of biological organisms. Bio burden studies are done to analyze the load thereby control the
quality of plant extracts being used. The study was aimed to investigate the existing
bioburden in plant extracts and essential oils and to determine the minimum concentration of
the herbal extracts required to inhibit growth of pathogens. In this study herbal extracts were
sourced from five manufacturers. All extracts were tested for their bioburden before being
selected for further application on cotton sheeting fabric. After examining the bioburden, the
herbal extracts were used for further application on substrate Minimum inhibitory
concentration (MIC) was done to assess the minimum quantity required for antimicrobial
effectiveness of the herbal extracts on textiles. The results revealed that TPC and YMC of
neem extract was 70 cfu/0.1 ml and aloe vera was < 300 cfu/0.1ml. Extracts sourced from
Brand ‘A’ had high levels of bacterial contamination which was unacceptable. In contrast
those sourced from the rest of the brands had minimal microbial contamination of
<1cfu/0.1ml. The MIC results indicated that Citronella and Lemongrass essential oils
required 10% concentration to show some antimicrobial activity whereas Neem and
Chamomile extracts showed higher MIC values i.e., 45% and 15% respectively. The focus of
future study will be optimizing formulations that use these extracts to combat bacteria. This
study lays the groundwork for future investigations into the antimicrobial finishing of
textiles.
