On the Bedroom Wall (original) (raw)
Do you plan to dress up this year? If so, who or what are you going to be?
Well....
So I have this cute 70's style dress and knee-high boots, so I guess I'm going to be one of those go-go style girls.
Only because I have to go out to eat with my mom and step-dad that night, at the Cheesecake Factory.
In Caesar's Palace.
O_o
The "surprise me" button to take you to a random journal?
Takes me to journals written in Cyrillic.
I cannot read Cyrillic. My computer doesn't even process it that well.
Come on, now, LJ. wtf.
Also, enjoy Murphy. :) Boondock Saints yay!
Clash of the Titans was. effing. awesome.
I won't leave any spoilers, but I just have to say...
Ralph Fiennes was Hades.
Voldemort was Hades.
Wise choice, casting director. Wise choice. It. Was. Brilliant.
Day 06 - Favorite book of your favorite series OR your favorite book of all time
I don't think I've read enough series to have a favorite book in one, let alone a favorite series all together. I don't even think I have a favorite book of all-time.
However, I've read The Last Vampire series multiple, multiple times.
( the rest of the daysCollapse )
I know I haven't been around a lot lately. I started a book review journal on wordpress a few weeks ago and I've been working at getting it up and running. Wordpress is a bit different from LJ, so I'm trying to make the transition.
Anyway, on to the book meme.
Day 05 - A book or series you hate
The obvious one is Twilight. Come on, you didn't see that coming?
Another one is Stephen King's Dreamcatcher. I just really couldn't get into this book, for some reason. It just kept dragging on and on and on.
( the rest of the daysCollapse )
Day 4, everyone! At this rate I'll be done by December! Ha!
Day 04 - Your favorite book or series ever
I have so, so many. For example, The Monstrumologist by Rick Yancey was one of my favorites. I love, love, loved it. So much so that I'm planning on nabbing up the sequel for it as soon as I can (and as soon as it's released).
The Vampire Academy series I cannot rave enough about. It's not exactly the best vampire stories ever, I still think they're too human, but it's better than sparklepires. Plus, I love how the narrator is so unreliable. I want to scream at her sometimes, tell her she's being a blockhead, and it's rare that I get so invested in the characters. Richelle Mead, you rock!
Day 5 will be interesting, but we all probably know what I'm going to say, don't we?

Topic: Day 03 - The best book you've read in the last 12 months
This is debatable. It's also difficult keeping track of which books I've read and when.
Under the Dome by Stephen King was probably one of the best.

Topic:
Day 02 - A book or series you wish more people were reading and talking about
Answer:
For young adults: Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead. It's such an excellent series. It's really a great series.
Also, the Vampirates series by Justin Somper. Delicious.
For adults: anything by Ishiguro. Never Let Me Go was beautiful. Seriously. Read it.
Next weekend: The best book in the past!
( the rest of the daysCollapse )
So I snagged the 30 day book meme from book_memes. Under the cut is the full 30 day list. I'll answer one question each weekend day (so each Saturday and Sunday). This list will really last me a lot longer than 30 days, but oh well.
Day 01 - A book series you wish had gone on longer OR a book series you wish would just freaking end already (or both!)
Twilight.
Holy god I wish it would stop. I thought it stopped at Eclipse. Then she wrote Breaking Dawn. Now it's that Bree Tanner book (which I refuse to even look at, by the way). Seriously, SMeyer, just stop already.
Tomorrow's topic: talking more about books I love!
Okay, so I've thought it over and I'd like to start a new book club here on LJ.
Would anyone on my f-list be interested in joining if I do so?
I haven't decided exactly what kind of books we would be reading, except that it wouldn't be limited to one certain genre. I'd like to do a lot of different types of books, but I'd also like the membership to vote on books so that we don't have just one person making all the decisions.
If you'd be interested, just comment. :)
