Monday's Feb 21st-April 11th7-9pmat 302 Bowery st #2 (btw bleeker and houston)We will cover the twelve-step recovery process from a buddhist perspective.As well as addressing important issues such as forgiveness, higher-power, service and spiritual awakening.This series will be taught from the theravadan buddhist perspective and AA's basic text. Participants will be expected to attend all sessions. (missing one or two is acceptable) Each two-hour meeting will include a short meditation, lecture on the given steps or topic, group discussions and Q&A.There is a suggested sobriety requirement of one-year. (but all who feel inclined are welcome to attend) There is a sliding scale registration fee of $50-100 to cover rent of the center and expenses. | sarahisagoddess I'm wanting to start a 16 step recovery group in the Twin Cities Metro Area as an alternative to 12 step recovery groups.  lachupacabra i just made my one year today& got a nice call from a ladyfrom my GA meeting this morning.when she asked when i was thinkingabout having my pinning & i saidthat i wasnt planning on having onecause getting up in front of pplmakes me nervous, she said i shouldntthink about myself & that pinningsare for other ppl too...especiallynew ppl who need to see that theprogram works.i can see her point, as my 2nd meetingwas a 5 yr pinning & it was exciting tome to see someone so successful in theprogram right off the bat.i still dont really want a pinning.so now i feel kinda guilty for not wantingit (dont get me wrong, i certainly want my*pin*, i just dont want the whole to-do thata pinning entails).is that bad?am i being terribly selfish?any responses appreciated.:)elisavet(x-posted a little) (4 comments | comment on this) |
