Hogwarts Select's Sorting Community

If your application is sucessful, you will be personally invited into the community by way of letter. This letter will assign your house amongst other starting information. The community is not open to everyone, whether you get in will be based on your application. Therefore it is important to put enough thought and words into your application. You are applying and must make your application worth reading and sorting.

To be sorted is going to take some effort from you. We will supply a form which you will fill in with corresponding answers. These answers must reflect your true potential. For example, if you fill out the form with one lined answers, you won't be accepted and will be branded "Muggle" by the Hogwarts staff.

NOTICE

If you want to post an application you may either 'just' post - the application will be accepted or denied by the sorting caretaker rosacrouch or you may request membership to this community. If you get a Muggle vote or never post an application, your membership will be revoked.

An application may be denied because of incorrect formatting, absence of essential information or shortness. Do take this into consideration when submitting an application.

It may happen your application doesn't get posted right away. That's because it is sitting in the queue and waiting for a open spot in the sorting community. This is to give all of the members enough time to read and vote on the current applications posted.

Put your application behind an LJ cut. Click the link if you don't know how to do one. Put "Sort Me" as your cut text.
Please bold the questions and keep your answers as plain text. Makes an easier read.
Be consistent with the length of your answers. One liners are fine for name and age (at most) but your other answers should be in depth.
Obviously don't push for one specific house, we'll know, and it's likely you will be branded Muggle if it's overly evident.
15 house points will be awarded if you refer someone here and they are sorted successfully. Mention who reffered you in your application.
Leave an EDIT note if you change your application after it has been posted, with the reason for the edit.
Be patient and wait to be sorted, you will then recieve your official letter and house information.
Once you've been sorted, you will be expected to vote on other people's applications.
If you are branded Muggle you will be exempt from re-applying this term.
Appeals for house changes will be considered under extremem circumstances, at the discretion of the headmaster effort_lessly.

9. Would you run for prefect or Head Boy/ Girl if you were at Hogwarts?
10. Who is your least favorite character - why?
11. What do you consider the key qualities of the four Hogwarts houses? (Describe why you think this and elaborate!)
12. Where and how would you like to see yourself (job, country) in a few years time?
13. If you were a teacher at Hogwarts, which subject would you teach and why? (Extra thumbs up for original submissions - feel free to invent your own magical subject!)
14. Would you be a Muggleborn (Mudblood?), Halfblood or Pureblood, based on your own personality? Give original reasons for this calculation excluding specific House Traits.
15. What improvements would you follow through if you were Minister of Magic?
16. What do you consider your most prominent qualities, either good or bad and why?
17. If you could change something of the Harry Potter series, what would you want to change?
18. Do you feel you can and will contribute to this community in an original way?
19. How did you hear of this community?
20. Now is your chance: choose a house you would prefer not to be sorted into. (Include rational arguments, though.)

DO try and answer each question as fully as possible, explain yourself fully and back up your statements with according proof. We are not forcing you to apply, you're applying of your own free will - so put some serious thought in it.

DON'T reply to something someone has said on the votes for your application. This will cause arguments and account

against, not for, you.

DON'T openly

slander any other houses once you are accepted, there will be a common room for your house where you can talk freely about things. However direct misuse of the common-room will be reported by prefects and you may be banned. Remember that this is for fun!

DO debate! We will only close in on blatent arguments where people are being deliberately abusive and offensive. Again, if this happens you are likely to end up in azkaban_select and you really don't want that.

DO know that once you have been sorted, you will need to cast votes on other peoples applications to sort them into the house you think they are best suited to. Each member will need to cast votes on at least

50 applications. Assign them to either of the four houses, or brand them "Muggle" if you do not wish them to be a part of the community.

DON'T submit

any sorting applications to any of the other sub communities bar this one.

DO take the time and effort to go over spelling and grammar. Hogwarts Select Students are eloquent and coherent above all else.

DO understand that your application will be posted as soon as is possible. The community will be a closed membership once we have our take in for this term. Be assured that if you apply when we have spaces, your application will be posted in due time.

DON'T make any posts which have incomprehensible language. There are users here of all ages, please acknowledge that.

DON'T make any remarks when sorting someone, other than ones justifying your reason for placing them into one of the houses or Muggle-ing them.

DO re-vote if you wish, but

do not delete your original vote. You may re-vote once only.

DO put

your house in the subject head when voting. Also mention your name.

bold the name of the house you wish to sort the person into. If you do not wish them to be a part of the community, please also bold the Muggle vote you have given.

DON'T feel obliged to sort someone into a house. If they have said something to rub you up the wrong way, or you just don't feel they belong; Muggle them.

DO put "Peppermint Frogs" in the subject line of your sorting application to show you have read these rules and guidelines.
