danielefton: Awesome Radio

So...

Yesterday Sam 100.7 fm did something utterly hysterical.

I was driving to work and I heard the following. (paraphrased)

This morning on AM Kentucky [wbko morning news] I heard it said that Chris Allen has a direct line to Mother Nature. All I could think of at that moment was Norman Bates. "Mother, Oh god mother, what have you done to the barometer!?"

Then they played a prerecorded whether segment with Chris Allen. And immediately faded into 'Mother' by Wolfmother.

I about died. I love Sam and this is the reason I force my coworkers to listen with me at work. Though it's no longer forced for most of them.

bright_eyes01: Its been awhile...

I have a friend that does photography of Southern/Southeastern Kentucky and wants to know some areas that would be awsome to take pictures of for his collection. I told him I would ask around. If it is a secret place you don't want to share publically let me know by msg. I know there are a few places around here that hardly anyone go to that are still beautifully intact for hundreds of years. Anyways please let me know.

pepsi_baby_01: Time to break the ice....

I agree with one of the members here that this community has wonderful kentuckians but has

not

been updated in FOREVER!So, I got some questions with hopeful approval to the mod to ask. Does anyone know any fairs coming up in local towns...even the areas that have only one stop light? Also, I'm a part of the Southern Paranormal Investigation Committee. Does anyone know any undiscover (eg. Waverly) popular areas, forgotten houses or buildings, grave yards, etc that are haunted or have been known through town gossip to be haunted? Here is something controversal but involves our state...what does everyone think about Pam Anderson wanting to take down the bronze statue of KFC's founder Col. Sanders? Just was wondering...trying to stir up a conversation on this forgotten but interesting community. I hope everyone has a great day!

wife_and_mom: (no subject)

Wow, there's been no posts in here for awhile. What happened to all my fellow Kentuckians? :o)

So, what does everyone think about the weather this month? I can't believe we went from 50/60 degree weather to the temperatures we've been having now. To top things off, we're under a winter storm watch for this weekend and we're supposed to get several inches of snow. I mean winter isn't winter without some snow but I don't want a lot of snow, my husband and father work outdoors so cold weather is bad for them. We're predicted to get plowable snow and there's still an uncertainty of how much we will actually get. At least it's supposed to warm up by monday though.

So, I hope you guys are still around. This community was full of such nice people, it would be sad to see this place completely die!
