We ask these plants, in light and love
To teach us of the world above
The world around us and below
The world within
The undertow
To all of nature
All of being
Remove mind's clouds
And grant us seeing
We humbly ask these teachers:
Show.
Please guide us through
Life's sweet warm glow
Life's chaos, fervor
Force and depth
The limits reached
At birth and death
We pay respect to teachers' powers
For we all know
They're not just flowers
Not merely plants
But awesome keys
Whose revelations
Bring to knees
All egos' worldly games
And struggles
And as we melt
To formless puddles
We will take heed
And we will learn
To hear your message
We all yearn
And so we say
These words in love:
"We draw the light
Down from above
And we all hope
And we all pray
To better our beings
This way"
And as we finish
This last verse
We thank these plants
And Universe
