We stayed the second night of our trip at a KOA in Union, IL. We stayed in KOA cabins every night in the US, its one of the few options to have three beds under 50 bucks, and KOA's are really nice....more about them later..........this one, however, was next door to a Wild West Town. Wild West Towns are common out west, but this is a rarity east of the Mississippi. We rode the commuter train into Chicago, where free trolleys wisked all over downtown....The whole public transit system was incredibly affordable and efficient, but i guess thats what the high gas tax gets you...........here are obligatory photos of downtown chicago

After we got back from Chicago, we all went for drinks at the bar at Wild West Town, where we and the bartender (about the only ones there) watched the PBS telethon where they show sixties music......it was actually a lot of fun. I have a theory that tourist attractions are much more fun if they serve booze and its after the tourists leave
