Phase Three Hiatus

SpyLand is officially on hiatus. I know I said we'd be starting Phase Three yesterday, but I've been distracted with a number of other things, and my heart is just not in it right now. I need a break.

I love this community a lot, and I hope to be able to bring us back to active status at some point, but unfortunately I don't know when that will be. I hope you've all had as much fun as I have, and if/when I'm able to restart the game, I sincerely hope you'll still be here.

Are You in the Game?

If you're reading this post but you cannot see this post, then you have not been properly added to the game. Please fix this -- we'd love to have you join in the fun! Here's how:

If you haven't already been sorted onto a team, please go to the application post. Just a couple easy questions and you'll be added to a team so you can start playing. We have a few missions posted already, so there's lots of fun to be had!

If you've already been sorted at the application post, then you need to join spy_land, atthesafehouse, and your team community to see all of the posts. You should have invites that you can accept on the manage invites page, but if you don't, go ahead and join from the profile pages and I'll approve you. If you're still having trouble, please let me know! I'll walk you through fixing the issue. :)

Welcome to Spy_Land!

If you'd like to join in on the espionage, you've come to the right place. If you haven't already, please read the rules and FAQs before commenting. This is a community that thrives on participation -- please only apply if you intend to participate at least once every seven missions.

The three Spy_Land teams are Team CIA, Team MI6, and Team KGB. The team names are just that: names. They organize who you play with, but they do not affect what fandoms you can use. Any and all Spy_Land fandoms are available to all spies on all teams.

To join a team and start playing the game, please comment with the following information:

I generally process new spies within 48 hours, but very occasionally it may take up to a week. I will try to accommodate your first choice team, but I keep the teams as even as possible, so I may place you in your second choice team or ask you to wait until there is a spot open.

Team KGB is currently closed.

You may either join an open team and begin playing immediately or request a closed team and wait for an available spot.

Below is the definitive list of shows and movies that may be used for Spy_Land missions.

The list can be expanded, so if there’s a show or movie you’d like to have added, please comment to have it considered. As long as one of the overall themes of the show or movie is espionage, spies, international intelligence, etc., I’ll add it to the list.

Then you might be team leader material!

I am looking for a team leader for both teammi6 and teamkgb. Team leaders should be able to post mission reminders, last calls, help/hints, and team bonding activities on a regular basis. Leaders should have a positive attitude and a competitive spirit. Previous land comm experience is required, but previous team leader experience is not. Members will be allowed to switch from CIA or KGB to MI6 if necessary, but the KGB leader must already be on that team.

If you are interested in the job, please fill out the following information:

midnightdream__, hallonpaj, and I will probably be choosing the new co-leaders within the next week or so. After the leader has been chosen, I'll PM everyone who applied, whether you've been chosen or not, so you won't be left hanging.

If you have a general question you'd like answered before you apply, please ask it in the questions thread.

Opting Out
Leave a comment here if you'd like to leave for any reason. You'll be removed from your team and all related Spy_Land communities. You may return whenever you wish by reapplying at the Application Post, but there's no guarantee that you'll be able to return to the same team.

Hiatus
If you'll be gone for a limited time and would like to return to your team at a later date, leave a comment here with when and how long you'll be gone. You'll be marked as "on hiatus" and will have no participation requirement for that time. You'll remain a member of all Spy_Land communities and you'll stay on the same team when you return.

Affiliates
If you have a related community that you'd like to affiliate with spy_land, please leave a comment here. We are open to affiliating with all land comms and spy-related communities. After agreeing to affiliate with us, please leave a link to us at your comm, and I'll add your link to our user info.

WELCOME TO SPY_LAND!

Spy_Land is an interactive challenge community for tv shows and movies that feature espionage and intelligence. Examples include Alias, Chuck, James Bond, and Mission: Impossible.

Our first phase will start in mid August. If you're interested in joining the game, please watch the community for further updates. The application post, team mod sign-ups, eligible fandom list, and first challenge will be posted in the coming weeks.

Just a heads up, our first challenge will be a promotions challenge. Although I won't officially post it for a few weeks, please feel free to start pimping the comm at any time. Any pimps for the community between now and when the first challenge closes, will be eligible for points.
