The diversified perspective on FC as an alternative to conventional concrete is due to its low density (400–1800 kg/m3) and good thermal conductivity, which also results in the reduction of costs in production, labor, and transportation. Generally, FC is produced by adding a pre-made foam to the cement slurry consisting of cement and aggregates. Here, the study was carried out by the addition of a coarse aggregate and foaming agent (i.e., 12%, 6%, 3%, 2%, 1%) at varying percentages in FC to improve the strength characteristics. FC was tested for its physical and mechanical properties. From the experimental results, an Artificial Neural Network (ANN) was developed to predict the strength of FC. The results from training and testing of the Polynomial Regression Analysis model (PRA) through ANN have shown great potent...

From a bird’s eye perspective, the most frequent cause of a dispute might be payment issues. However, when observed keenly, it has an inter-relationship with almost every other cause, such as contractual changes, delays in project completion, compromising on the quality of construction, etc. Therefore, analyzing the factors which cause a dispute is important. It is also essential to understand the interrelationship of the factors. In this study, judicial construction disputes, along with judgements in different domains, were collected. The most frequent causes of disputes are identified among these cases. Sixty-five cases were considered for the analysis, which constitutes the writ petition, response and final judgment. These items were collected to gain the perspective of the petitioners and respondents over the cause of the dispute and the final judgment to analyze the factor...

Fly Ash Cenospheres (FAC) are one of the principal wastes produced by coal power stations. The huge volume of FAC produced worldwide has created a sustainability challenge, owing to the potential implications of inappropriate disposal. Using cenospheres in concrete materials would make effective and efficient use of these waste products while also supplementing what the present raw material, such as river sand, can supply for concrete material production. Though the application of FAC in concrete is currently carried out by the construction industry, there is still a lack of understanding about its performance in concrete with Manufactured Sand (M Sand) as fine aggregate. Therefore, in this paper, a comprehensive study explores the concept of adding FAC to M Sand concrete. The properties of fresh and hardened co...
