Reliability is a material property (Bondi 1979), it can be defined as a Fuzzy cardinality of larg... more Reliability is a material property (Bondi 1979), it can be defined as a Fuzzy cardinality of large number if parameters failure rate and their Fuzzy grades of truth.'A material may be assumed as a system and its parameters as elements. The parameter's failure rate is uncertain, highly random, baseless, without reference to contest. They have no origin, no reference phasor and no comparison, when materials are subjected to high loads under dynamic conditions. The materials of aeroplane, jet and high speed steels of railway track bear very high mechanical forces. The degradation, failure, and deterioration under natural, forced and pollution agents are brought to study and cardinality of the failures are brought forward. A single material is sometimes preferred in Engineering devices and its reliability is an important parameter. The reliability provides life, risk, hazard, danger, calamity and disaster. Availability, maintainability, durability, serviceability and securiability are important parameters of a material. If the failure rate is extremely high and severe the disaster will occur. Fuzzy logic may yield good results in the extremely and severe randomness of variation of parameters such as density, melting point, thermal conductivity, tensile strength, temperature, coefficient of expansion and resistance, specific heat capacity, electrical resistivity, dielectric constant, loss tangent, 9 factor and a number of other parameters are considered.

We use fermion mean field theory to study possible plaquette ordering in the antiferromagnetic SU... more We use fermion mean field theory to study possible plaquette ordering in the antiferromagnetic SU(4) Heisenberg model. We find the ground state for both the square and triangular lattices to be the disconnected plaquette state. Our mean field theory gives a first order transition for plaquette ordering for the triangular lattice. Our results suggest a large number of low lying states.

In the Mott insulating phase of the transition metal oxides, the effective orbital-orbital intera... more In the Mott insulating phase of the transition metal oxides, the effective orbital-orbital interaction is directional both in the orbital space and in the real space. We discuss a classical realization of directional coupling in two dimensions. Despite extensive degeneracy of the ground state, the model exhibits partial orbital ordering in the form of directional ordering of fluctuations at low temperatures stabilized by an entropy gap. Transition to the disordered phase is shown to be in the Ising universality class through exact mapping and multicanonical Monte Carlo simulations.
