Owing to their ductile nature, initial Cu powders were directly added to mechanical alloying batch. On the other hand initial WC powders were high energy milled prior to mechanical alloying. Contact infiltration method was selected for densification and compacts prepared from processed powders were infiltrated into porous WC bodies. After infiltration, samples were characterized via X-Ray diffraction studies and microstructural evaluation of the samples was carried out via scanning electron microscopy observations. Based on the lack of solubility between WC and Cu it was possible to keep fine WC particles in Cu melt since solution reprecipitation controlled densification is hindered. In this study, Cu-25WC, Ni-25WC, and Fe-25WC (all in wt%) composite powders were produced via mec... more In this study, Cu-25WC, Ni-25WC, and Fe-25WC (all in wt%) composite powders were produced via mechanical alloying (MA) and characterized for their potential utilization in particulate materials based technologies. The changes in the crystallite size (D) and lattice strain (ε) during the production of WC particle reinforced Cu, Fe, and Ni composite powders via MA were investigated. The Williamson-Hall (W-H) plot analysis and fundamental parameters approach (FPA) applied with Lorentzian function were used to evaluate ε and D of matrix phases from XRD results. With increasing MA, ε values of all matrix phases showed an increase whereas D values showed a decrease. In addition to that, lattice parameters a Cu and a Ni changed linearly with time, and a Fe displayed a slight decrease. The XRD peak belonging to the Cu (111) plane shifted towards larger 2-theta angles in the same direction. Contrary to Cu, the Fe (110) peak shifted to lower angles with MA time. However, the XRD peak belonging to the Ni (111) plane changed alternately. Similar results were obtained from both W-H plot analysis and the FPA calculations. Minimum crystallite size and maximum internal strain rates were estimated for 8 h MA'ed Cu25WC, Fe25WC, and Ni25WC composite powders as 14.63 nm and 1.39%, 7.60 nm and 1.23%, and 17.65 nm and 1.13%, respectively. Transmission electron microscope observations were found in good agreement with the crystallite size of XRD calculations.

Tarih boyunca ortaya çıkan bütün ekonomik sistemler, kendiliğinden, üretim ilişkilerinin ve koşul... more Tarih boyunca ortaya çıkan bütün ekonomik sistemler, kendiliğinden, üretim ilişkilerinin ve koşulların dayatmasıyla çıkmıştır. İlkel köleci toplumdan, feodalizme, feodalizmden burjuvaziye, burjuvaziden kapitalizme kadar geçen bütün tarihsel süreç, tarihin kendi dayatmasıydı. Fakat ilk defa insan aklı, daha iyi, daha özgür, daha eşitlikçi, her şeyden öte sınıfsız bir toplumun oluşacağı bir sistemi düşündü. Tabii ki bu düşünce bir anda kendiliğinden doğmadı. Kökenleri 17. yüzyıla dayanan liberalizm, 18. ve 19. yüzyıllarda aydınlanma çağıyla beraber düşünsel hayatta iyice belirgin hale geldi. Hemen akabinde bir başka ideoloji olan sosyalizm de iyice belirgin bir hal almaya başlamıştı. Bu iki ideolojinin şekillenişi özellikle Avrupa'da çok sıkı tartışmalara yol açtı, dünyanın her yerine yayıldı. Tabii ki bu tartışmaların, Rusya'ya sıçramaması imkansızdı. Rusya'da, Petro'dan beri gelişen sanayi, Katarina'yla beraber iyice yükselen entelektüel ortam, bu fikri tartışmalarla birleşince artık yeni bir dünya düzeni düşünülmeye başlandi ve toplumsal çelişkilerin hızla artmasıyla devrim düşüncesini akıllara girmeye başladı. İşte bu sistem, dünyada ilk kez 1917'de devrim sonucunda Rusya'da gerçekleşti. Bu çalışmada, oluşan bu sistemin ortaya çıkmasına etkisi olan; 18. ve 19. yüzyıllardaki düşünsel hayat ve şeklini iyice belirginleştirmiş ideolojiler gözden geçirilecek, bu fikir dünyasının etkilediği Rusya'daki devrimci hareketin neyi tahayyül ettiği fakat düşünce ile pratik arasında nereye vardığının cevabı aranacaktır.
