Post clearout and an extra pair of hands Hi all,

Just to say that I've cleared out our backlog of nearly 45 posts from as old as two years ago. So apologies to people who are getting notifications from things they can't even remember sending us!

As you can probably guess from this post, I'm joining on as an active mod (previously I was only here to help tag posts). This includes keeping an eye on the comments as well as dealing with approving or rejecting posts. Please do post to this community if you're having a problem anywhere.

Posts appear out of order Normally I just read sextips from my friends page. Today I saw somebody discussing sextips (in a different community) and they said that posting was very sparse, that the two most recent posts were from December 2011 and May 2011. The person also confirmed that she was a member of the community.

Well, I went to the sextips page at http://sextips.livejournal.com/ and, sure enough, the top two entries are from December 2011 and May 2011. You have to scroll down a ways to get to the entries from this year. Something is wrong with the order that entries are displayed.

For discussion Hi folks,

This post caused a bit of controversy due to its advertisey nature. I approved it because I felt that it was on-topic enough without so much advertising that it was worthy of rejection.

So, the questions for the community (and the mods are discussing this separately as well) are: do you like our current "no advertisement" policy? Should it be changed or modified? What do you think about a requirement that the poster disclose any business affiliations (e.g., work for the company, get a kickback, get a free product) and that any links posted cannot earn affiliate credit? Any other questions or comments?

Why hasn't my question been posted? I was just curious why my question has not yet been posted to sextips. If I'm not mistaken, I submitted it on Saturday.

PS not sure if the reason my question has not yet been posted is because of my empty journal, if so, I made this journal years ago just to watch/post in these types of communities anonymously.

Permission to post a certain...post So I read the posting rules for the community, and I didn't want to upset anyone and just post what i wanted to . Since my post will possible seem like an advertisment or what not, and is not a strictly birth control question, I'd thought I'd come here first and run through y'all first. I understand if this post doesn't get approved for the site, or if you like to change any of the wording.

-------Here is what the post would say:
<lj-cut) Hey! I'm Bre, and I have a possible favor to ask. Here's the deal: I have a sexual awareness/sexual health survey on my blog. The blog is for a project I have in mind where instead of relying on the government to teach our kids about sexual health, we take it upon ourselves as a community. I hope that one day there will be able to be classes about sexual health and awareness that isn't linked to schools. Another part is to almost create a "street team" of young adults who help educate their peers with information. One on one seems to be the best way people can learn about this taboo discussion. I do have a little more information on my blog if you would like to learn more, or join in to help. What I would really truly appreciate this early in the game is for as many people as possible to take the survey. It takes approximately 5-15. It's approximately 55 questions, and majority of them are multiple choice. Now the first half of the survey is general information, the rest begins to get very personal. I understand the embarrassment you may feel answering these questions but it's anonymous. I have no way of linking who said what. Trust me I wouldn't even be able to find out if I wanted to, haha. So if you could take a few minutes to look it over and fill it out, it would mean the world to me. If there is anyway you could also post the link/survey anywhere, to anyone that would also be amazing! I'm trying to get as diverse answers as possible, and want a huge variety to make the results as unbiased as possible. Tags? What would you modly types think about allowing tags? I think it could be a very helpful way to be able to find previous entries again.

The way it works in a couple of my communities it that all users can tag posts, however only mods can create new tags. This means that you don't get rubbish/misspelled/insulting tags made, but the mods don't have to do all the work in sorting through posts.

What do you think?

Lacking intimacy My boyfriend recently told me our sex life lack mental and emotional intimacy. Basically I think I just don't "Do it for him" We've started working on it but we both have our walls up most of the time and I'm very selfconcious which doesn't help me when trying to break out of my shell and act like a total sex pot.

He has a pretty unique sense of what's sexy, at least compared to any guy I've ever been with. He likes to be teased, good girls who play head games and what not. He likes sweet and innocent lingerie and panties. He just likes to keep it classy.
What can I do to to dress more innocent but still feel sexy? Any guys also into this type of thing who could specifically describe what things I could say or do to turn him on like he wants to be turned on? Also he's in constant search of some cute satin string bikini panties, SO HARD to find! Any good stores for the sweet and sexy look?

Also how do I balance the "lady on the streets, but a freak in the bed" thing. How do I tease him with out seeming slutty?? And how can I get use to this softer type of lover, he's sensitive and I'm afraid if I let out my wild side I'll hurt him! I want to blow his mind and give him everything he wants, I just don't know specifically what he wants. It's all trial and error

Quick question I want to post about the topic of sexual obsession/dependency, mostly relating to myself (personal experiences) while asking for thoughts, opinions, and possibly advice anyone could give me. Is this an appropriate topic for Sextips?

If there is something in the memories I have no idea where to begin looking for that.

My post. Sorry for mentioning this if it's out of line, but I recently submitted a post to Sextips because I've found that you guys have created a really supportive community which is open to helping a lot of other people with problems that they wouldn't necessarily want to talk to anyone else about, or as an avenue for supplementary advice.

I read through all of the memories I deemed relevent (sections on lubes, allergies, bleeding, health problems, perhaps a few others..)

If my post wasn't relevant, or deemed acceptible for the Sextips community, would any of the mods who perhaps has read through my post, be able to suggest somewhere else for me to go?

Two things I want to retract my most recent post to sextips (about strip tease song lyrics), but it hasn't been approved yet. Is there anyway a mod can deny the post or something? I don't need my question answered after all. I wasn't sure how to go about deleting a post that hasn't even been posted yet. Thanks.

Also, maybe no one pointed out the blatant NSFW nature (directly violates the "no icons of genitals" rule) of this user's icon because we were all distracted by the OPs sad situation? I thought the post deserved a serious reply and didn't want to be the one to be like "UHHHH CHANGE YOUR ICON"....but I thought I'd bring it to the attention of the mods if you all wanted to take any action.

I feel silly. =P
