♪ ABOUT ME
Hi! I'm Kat and I write stories. This journal is my spot in the shade away from it all. It's kind of like my room, where I can daydream and talk about all the things I love about life. Aside from fanfiction (which is how this blog got started), I also post personalized reviews and features. Feel free to explore the sidebar as well as the tags at the bottom of every entry; you'll likely find more of what you're looking for there.
♪ FRIENDING POLICY (FOR LJ USERS)
If I've had you on my list at one point or other, then consider us friends forever. Even if you disappear for a bit (or do it sporadically), or even if we haven't spoken in years, it's cool. We'll always be able to find something to talk about, believe me. Unless, of course, you've done something particularly terrible like tortured puppies or kittens. Or are now insanely homophobic. Having said that, my journal is a pressure-free space where you can come and go as you please. The only thing I do when I conduct a clean-up is check for dead or empty journals anyway.
Other than friends I've met all around LiveJournal, I also add people whose fic/posts I read and enjoy immensely. If you see me on your friends-list and we've never talked or anything, I definitely don't expect you to add me back. Life is much simpler that way. And to those who are new and just about to step into my world of crazy
awesome, welcome! While I don't fancy excessive drama or angst, if you need someone to talk to, I can listen. Likewise, you will find ramblings and spoilers here. They'll be under cuts, but don't say I didn't warn you.+ Feel free to request fic. Comment with your fandom, pairing, and prompt. :)

LATE FILLS
TITLE: another step, closer
FANDOM: Yuri!!! On Ice
CHARACTERS: Viktor/Yuuri, Makkachin, appearances from other familiar faces
RATING: PG-13
SUMMARY: Therapy Fluffies AU. In which Yuuri is recovering from a devastating loss, and Viktor with his therapy dog, Makkachin help pick up the pieces. (9,600+ words)
WARNING/S: An almost alarming lack of competitive skating, run-ons, switching perspectives, dealings with depression, and Yuri’s potty mouth.
NOTES: This was written for the Viktuuri Reverse Bang, inspired by the art and prompts of @calico-cats. You can also find it on AO3.
( Viktor's hand doesn't connect, doesn't get to him. Misses him by a thread. But he quickly shrugs that off as if it never happened, not one to be deterred. Takes a matching step forward, invading more of Yuuri's personal space. And it is curious and dizzying all at once, he isn't completely certain that he actually minds. There's just something about the guy, something about Viktor, something genuine, something warm, something all-consuming. Something frightening, still.Collapse )
TITLE: send me the miles
FANDOM: Daiya no Ace
CHARACTERS: Miyuki/Sawamura, featuring Haruichi, Furuya, Raichi, Chris, and a few other familiar faces
RATING: PG
SUMMARY: Postcrossing AU. Sawamura regularly writes postcards to connect with new people around the world; Miyuki, on Chris’s recommendation, decides to try the Postcrossing site out and receives his first postcard from Sawamura. They develop a friendship through their correspondence, which eventually leads to seemingly unrequited romantic feelings. (8,100+ words)
NOTES: This was written for the Misawa Reverse Bang, inspired by the art and prompts of @kanakotakaya-theshipper. You can also find it on AO3.
( 'But it’s not like that,' Eijun shakes his head, closing his eyes. Begins sketching what he thinks Miyuki might look like, follows the hazy lines taking shape. They drift around in loops and strokes, before vanishing like smoke. Like a half-remembered dream, the wisp of an unfulfilled wish. Because he's never asked. He's never needed to; it's always been part of the allure of exchanging postcards. And, in any case, Miyuki hasn't asked either. It would be weird.Collapse )
TITLE: now that we’re here
FANDOM: Nanbaka
CHARACTERS: Uno/Jyugo/Rock/Nico, appearances from other familiar faces
RATING: G
SUMMARY: Jyugo receives some unexpected news, and rides the fallout. (2,100+ words)
WARNING/S: Spoilers from the series.
NOTES: This was written for TereziMakara over at Night On Fic Mountain. You can also find it on AO3.
( Truthfully, he is tired, but he couldn't sleep even if he wanted to. Uno grinds his teeth, Nico laughs in his sleep, Rock snores loudly. There is, also, very little space between them, between their technicolored futons, all tangled limbs – Uno's hand in his on one end of the line, Rock's extended leg trapping him in place in the middle, Nico's huddled form glued to Rock's back for warmth on the other – and blankets in wild disarray, they might as well be using a large one.Collapse )
TITLE: parallel lines
FANDOM: Daiya no Ace
CHARACTERS: Jun/Ryousuke, appearances from the Seidou ensemble
RATING: PG-13
SUMMARY: In which Jun reflects on the Inashiro game, how he first met Ryousuke, and how his life changed from that moment on. (4,600+ words)
WARNING/S: Spoilers from 01x63 and basically the end of the first season. Also, I used 01x50, OVA: Face, and Jun’s sidestory as references, though I did take quite a few liberties. And I apologize for Jun’s potty mouth.
NOTES: This was written for Daiya no Bang: Reverse, inspired by the art and prompts of @hailing. You can also find it on AO3.
( It's not just because Ryousuke has an aura about him, wears his sarcasm and easy-going grin like a shield. It's not just because Jun's gotten used to it, learned to navigate the fine line between a half-hearted joke and a pointed remark, not with the consistent way Ryousuke continues to surprise him. But it has plenty to do with the little things. Like how when they're next to each other, standing inches apart, Jun imagines Ryousuke intentionally shifting his bag to his right, to match how Jun's is on his left, creating a comforting space between them. A space either can cross, a magnetic tug – a permanent possibility.Collapse )

FANDOM: Daiya no Ace
CHARACTERS: Miyuki/Sawamura/Chris, appearances from the rest of the Seidou ensemble and other familiar faces
RATING: R
SUMMARY: Miyuki Kazuya, of The Ultimate Rookies, wants nothing more than to work with legendary composer, Takigawa Chris Yuu. Problem is, no one's been able to pin the reclusive songwriter down in years. Not one to be deterred, however, Miyuki finally manages to pay him a personal visit – only to be greeted at the front door by a rude kid, who mysteriously calls his idol “shishou”. (25,000+ words)
WARNING/S: An almost alarming lack of baseball, run-on sentences, creeper!Miyuki, and Eijun’s dirty mouth.
NOTES: This was originally written for and submitted to Daiya no Bang, with art created by @hilaryfun. You can also find it on AO3.
( Chris stared at him, clearly, surprisingly taken aback before his mask of indifference smoothed back into place. He regarded Miyuki, continued to as he greeted Sawamura in the kitchen. Miyuki knew that Chris expected an explanation, demanded one, and was thankful that the kid wasn’t going to provide it. No, he was going to leave that up to Miyuki, let him take the lead. The kid stayed on his side of the room, acting like he was too busy preparing the ingredients for lunch to be pulled into the conversation. But Miyuki could tell he was curious, if his pointed gaze was any indication.Collapse )

In keeping with my resolution to get out more and to explore the Sikatuna area (which we moved to a few years ago), I decided to make a reservation at Cat Cafe Manila.
I've always liked the idea of animal cafes (which are really popular in Japan), and have read that the concept is to create a relaxing space for people who are stressed out or feeling lonesome. This video, for example, shows just how therapeutic being around kittens - and, I'm adding, puppies - can be. They're also for people who don't have pets of their own, which often results from living and working in the city. So, when I started hearing about all these animal cafes popping up around town, I knew that I had to try them out.
( Located on the 2nd floor of 189 Maginhawa Street, Cat Cafe Manila is on a mission to promote 'responsible pet ownership'.Collapse )
