The Jem Movie: My Audition Video! #jemthemovie [13 Apr 2014|01:24pm]
So, the upcoming Hollywood film about JEM put out a casting call to fans around the world (i.e. video auditions to be cast somewhere in the film) - I could NOT pass up the opportunity to try my luck! Jem (ok, more like The Misfits and Stingers...) was my everything as a child and it would be a dream come true to be involved in this. Hope you enjoy my submission! so i’ve been tossing around the idea of doing a post series jem and the holograms rpg. it would be hosted on jcink because that’s where I like to rp and i’m just curious to see if there’s anyone else out there that would care to hop on this band wagon and just have some general fun.

I have started watching the series again, and as usual, I dream of a revival. It would be very easy to make Jem relevant today. But I'm really torn about the demographic. Would it be geared to the generation it first entertained, or children today? Animated or live action? Would the Misfits be able to pull of half of the stunts they could in the 80s (lol)? No matter what they did with it, I would happily check it out. With the right production team, it could really do Jem a service. It has to happen in this lifetime.

So the other day at work, I found a copy of season 3 for cheap. That's great, because I wanted to complete my collection. I have both Rhino DVD releases.Now I see that the box set of seasons 1 and 2 is actually just season 1. And season 3 part 1 is not season 3 at all, but part of season 2. So I am missing a chunk of season 2.I'm sure there are many people that know this already, but I have only just figured this out, and it pisses me off. I'm glad they have rereleased the entire series. I would like to have the complete series box, but when I think back to how much I paid for the Rhino boxes... Oh my Lord. Overpriced sham. Even the liner art is terrible and amateurish.For those of you that don't yet own any Jem on DVD, boycott the Rhino editions. Seriously.

Jem needs her own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. If that horse-faced Celine Dion and the Rugrats have one, then Jem, or at least, Jem and the Holograms ought to have one.Of course, it would cost $30,000 to make this happen. I am wondering if I have the stamina to see this through. I suppose I could set up a trust with a bank so that people would know that everything would be on the up and up.Thoughts anybody?

Attention Netflix users: Jem's first season is now streaming! [08 May 2012|02:42am]
I know most of us likely have the first season on DVD (or torrents), but this is great news for folks like me who enjoy the convenience of watching their favorite shows on their Wii instead if whipping out the boxes. I just hope they put the Stingers season up there eventually because I currently lack the extra funds to pick up the complete sets right now.

As a forty-one year old man, there aren't many outlets to share this news....My seventy-eight year old mother, in a wild moment, just purchased the Jem box set for me for Christmas.God, I love her.

Just a quick "hello" everyone. Haven't posted in a while. I'm very pleased with the growth of this community. I was very happy to hear about the re-release on DVD. Now I can finally complete the collection. Though I'm considering trading my old ones in in favour of new sparkly packaging. Oh well. Have a good day!

[ **mood** | ecstatic ] YAY.... MY JEM HAS ARRIVED!!!!!!!!!:D SO FREAKEN EXCITED!!!! Was expecting it to take a few weeks to get to me, (i live in australia) but i forgot it was express posted so just a few days. Woooo hooo!!!!! I LOVE it!!!! The menu is like a concert type theme and its just, ohh couldnt have wished for any better! You'll know what i mean when you all get your copies :Dxoxo rach.

People asked for photos of the DVD packaging, so I took some. I had too much homework to get around to it sooner (I have had too much homework to even take the discs out of their cases yet!), but that doesn't make the photos any less OUTRAGEOUS. :)The photos are large, so they're behind ye olde LJ cut.( Photo time, Synergy...Collapse )

[ **mood** | bouncy ] My DVDs are here, and they're shiny and sparkly and they have ALL the episodes and the packaging artwork looks a ZILLION times better than the Rhino ones did.I probably won't actually get to watch them until the husband is at work on Monday. He's not a fan. :p
