Anarchy is Scary, But Not As Scary As This (original) (raw)

[10 Jul 2013|02:20am]
"Dear Brothers and Sisters, Dear Enemies and Friends,Why are we all so alone here? All we need is a little more hope, a little more joy. All we need is a little more light, a little less weight, a little more freedom. If we were an army, and if we believed that we were an army, and we believed that everyone was scared like little lost children in their grown up clothes and poses; so we ended up alone here floating through long wasted days, or great tribulations.. While everything felt wrong. Good words, strong words, words that could've moved mountains. Words that no one ever said. We were all waiting to hear those words and no one ever said them. And the tactics never hatched. And the plans were never mapped. And we all learned not to believe. And strange lonesome monsters loafed through the hills wondering why.. And it is best to never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever wonder why. So tangle -- oh tangle us up in bright red ribbons! Let's have a parade. It's been so long since we had a parade, so let's have a parade! Let's invite all our friends. And all our friends' friends! Let's promenade down the boulevards with terrific pride and light in our eyes: twelve feet tall and staggering.. Sick with joy with the angels there and light in our eyes. Brothers and Sisters, hope still waits in the wings like a bitter spinster; impatient, lonely and shivering, waiting to build her glorious fires. it's because of our plans man; our beautiful ridiculous plans. Let's launch them like careening jetplanes. Let's crash all our planes in the river. Let's build strange and radiant machines at this Jericho waiting to fall."

This information scares me.But it does ease my mind knowing that we are somewhat ready. At the very least, mentally.I only wish that the people we love, and care about would take this info. seriously and prepare themselves as much as possible.

Spark a nug of the Kali flower and tune in to this chronicle of the contemporary counterculture!Blues4Kali- by Indi RiverflowWhat will Winter Solstice bring in 2012?...an instant of Karma? ...an ethereal spiral dance of the collective soul? ... cosmic judgment leveled against civilization's expanse? ...destruction of the world as we know it? ...a chance for a new start? ...the rise and the revenge of the Goddess? or simply another day in the life of paranoia? These are the false prophesies that your pastor warned you about!

kid's stuff... [04 Aug 2006|02:48am]
I’m 7.5 months pregnant and looking for children’s books, baby’s books, and children’s/baby’s movies/shows that are enjoyable, educational, have good politics, and strong female characters. I’ve already thought of a few but I’m looking to stock up on stuff in the last couple of months before I give birth… any suggestions?X-posted a lot

perhaps people are so resistant to change because there is no proper outlet for mourning the passing of what they are holding on to.we all need to sit down and have a big cry for everything that has happened to all of usthen rebuild from thereto have empathy is courageous

In the wake of Katrina, one of the many things I mourned was that I had never had the opportunity to go to New Orleans. Certainly, it would never be the same. And it often crossed my mind that in the re-building it would be gentrified beyond recognition.Well, the corporate sponsership has begun.

Interesting read... [17 Nov 2005|01:03pm]
I know a few of us here have done the whole MMORPG thing and this month's issue of The Escapist addresses the batches of sociopaths that these games inadvertently breed. The, "13-year-old in Tauren's clothing," the determined band of ass-holes who display swastikas and images of rape in Second life, the fucker lvl 60 that camps your corpse for an hour, or just your typical griefer who's not happy until everyone is unhappy. Cool articles on real life griefers and virtual ones. Probably the best issue of The Escapist I've read to date.

New Wal-Mart flick [08 Nov 2005|09:36pm]
I really liked Outfoxed when I first saw it. It was humorous and entertaining. Robert Greenwald also directs this new documentary about the evils of Wal-Mart and it should be worth a look. It's most likely more reactionary leftist propaganda, but it should give liberals some ammunition for the next big after dinner debate. http://www.disinfo.com/site/displayarticle13631.html
