| This community is primarily for creative souls who live in Brisbane, Australia and would love to get together regularly to create, trade ideas and make some new friends. Members from around the world are welcome to participate in the online side of things though! Whether you sew, knit, crochet, cross stitch, scrapbook, paint, sculpt, bead (or any other creative thing you can think of) you are welcome to join in. The idea is not unlike the old style 'sewing circle' although this group puts a new spin on things by not being entirely dedicated to sewing. We're not going to be a bunch of grannies sitting around sewing, drinking tea and discussing the royal family.Whether you create creepy vampire dolls or more traditional floral cross stitch, as long as you are open minded to the variety of things that people might create you are most welcome to join in. If you request to join the community (because I have to OK your request) and you don't have any publicly accessible information in your journal/profile please introduce yourself over at my Livejournal (
kittycat_black). This is just so I know who is joining since many of these meetups will be at my home. If all I know about you is that you know how to use a computer I may not want to invite you into my home! :P Thanks!
If you'd like to check out who has introduced themselves to the group you can see everyone's intros in the 'Memories' secion below. Many of them will be friends locked so if you aren't a member (or aren't logged in) you won't be able to see them.
I also wanted to add... don't feel worried that this is a closed group who all already know eachother. At every Stitch'n'bitch so far there has been at least one new person... we love meeting new people!
