I started a hand-work group through meetup.com. I had to pay to be an "organizer" but it's free for you to join. Anyway, I've scheduled the first official meetup for Wednesday August 1st. I hope you can make it. I think at this first meetup we'll mostly talk about ourselves and where and when the group would like to meet in the future.

Here's a compelted project, I got this book for Christmas and this pattern is from it There were tons of cute designs and it was hard to choose...but I fianlly did: I finished this around Valentines Day but it was so cute I didn't want to give it away! x-posted to

Hi Guys,
Sorry I haven't been around much. I noticed the community is kind of dead. I wish I knew how to recruit other pdx-ers. I have some project updates that I'll post later.
I'm thinking of revamping the User Info page too. If any on you have any links to your personal websites or any suggestions for that, let me know!

A thank you gift for my cooperating teacher during student teaching. I chose to show her my favorite moment of student teaching -celebrating Chinese New Year and Tet with our kindergarten students -a nice colorful inspiring day.
The scanner does a way better job showing the hand-dyed fabric than the digital camera. Makes me want to scan everything I've made up to this point.

I must have been drunk or something, because I accidentally ordered a dozen skeins of DMC 726. I only needed one. I'm going to keep two, but I'm gonna give the rest away on a first come, first served basis. Pls email me at platinumpilar@hotmail.com. Here's a recently completed project. It's my first time doing any mirror work and I'm looking forward to doing more of that soon. It's also the first time I've just made up the design as I went along rather than drawing something on the fabric first. This is really fun to do with hand-dyed fabric like this because it's kind of like looking for pictures in the clouds.

Last night I was hard at work on Kwan Sae Um (Korean for Kwan Yin, see below), and I wondered, what am I going to do with her? Will she end up like my other projects, pretty but stored away?
What do you all do with your finished pieces?
