At our core, we're a coating and materials company that develops unique and advanced photonic solutions to capture sunlight and enhance its potential for various benefits — like clean, renewable energy, for starters. We’re also improving Low-E Solar Coating technology to efficiently control the detrimental impacts of “heat gain” in homes and buildings that creates increased energy demand for environmental control. SunDensity is developing our Photonic Smart Coatings (PSC™) and Perovskite Photovoltaic (PPV) approaches to uniquely capture these opportunities and others we’ve yet to discover.
The Power of Proprietary Technology
Most photonic processes are inefficient. The problem is that the spectrum of incoming light doesn’t match what’s best for the underlying device or system. SunDensity’s Photonic Smart Coating (PSC™) and Perovskite Photovoltaic (PPV) approaches provide more energy at the optimum wavelength to create increased efficiency.
Our coatings specialize in transforming light — increasing the power output from solar modules and creating more accessible green energy solutions at a lower overall cost. We’re also applying these coatings in Low-Emissivity (Low-E) Solar Control technology for architectural glass applications addressing heat gain to reduce energy demand in the built environment.

SunDensity, Inc. announces the formation of its new, wholly-owned subsidiary, SunDensity Canada, with the acquisition of QD Solar, Inc., a solar materials company spun out of research from the University of Toronto and located in the MaRS Discovery District in Toronto, Canada. Both companies are graduates of Luminate NY, the world's largest accelerator for optics, photonics and imaging (OPI) tech companies. The asset acquisition agreement allows the organizations to explore a wider range of materials and processes for solar applications and promises to accelerate technology development.
