Applying for Membership With the Bluetooth SIG (original) (raw)

The Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG) is a network of member organizations that are the caretakers and innovators of Bluetooth® technology. As a Bluetooth SIG member, your organization will join a community that helps you grow your business and shape the future of Bluetooth technology.

When completing your membership application, you will be required to:

To begin your membership application, please follow this link: https://apply.bluetooth.com/

From this page, you can begin your new membership application, or if you have already started an application, you can log in and continue where you left off.

Enter your company’s national jurisdiction of formation:

Once chosen and submitted, you cannot edit your jurisdiction of formation; if you chose the incorrect country, a member of the Bluetooth SIG staff will need to cancel your application and request you begin again.

Indicate Your Company’s Legal Business/Entity Type:

Once chosen and submitted, you cannot edit your company’s entity type; if you chose the incorrect entity, a member of the Bluetooth SIG staff will need to cancel your application and request you begin again.

You will receive a verification email from: noreply@bluetooth.com

Once you have verified your email address, you can log into the application and provide your company details. If you need to exit the application at any time, you can log back in and navigate to any section using the left-side navigation section.

Provide your company’s line of business:

Provide your company’s industry type:

Enter Your Company’s Mailing Address:

Please provide your company’s headquarters/central office address.

Next, you have the option to enter your company’s website; you are not required to provide a website, but it can be helpful to keep your company’s membership account up to date.

Provide and Upload Proof of Ownership of Your Company’s Email Domain:

Proof material must display both your company name and email domain name. If your email domain is currently registered to an individual, you will need to update the ownership to your company.

The Bluetooth SIG uses email domain as part of our member account security to ensure only member company employees can create user accounts and access company information.

Below are some examples of documentation that we can accept to prove that your company owns the email domain:

Provide a Certified Copy of Your Company’s Business Formation Documents:

Your company’s business formation documents help the Bluetooth SIG verify the legal information provided in this application.

Your company formation documents will typically be issued by your state, provincial, or national government.

Enter Your Company’s Local Jurisdiction of Formation:

Your local jurisdiction of formation is typically the city, state, or province where your company is based; for some countries, your local jurisdiction may still be listed as the national government.

Provide Your Company’s Legal Name:

Your company’s legal name should exactly match your formation documents; this includes punctuation, spelling, and language.

Next, you can provide your company’s trade name/dba; you are not required to provide this name, but it can help prevent customs issues or other confusion when completing the Bluetooth Qualification Program.

Confirm Contact and Eligibility Information for the Individual Who Will Be Signing the Bluetooth SIG Membership Agreements:

The employee signing the Bluetooth SIG Membership Agreements should be a duly authorized signer for your company; this would typically be a chief executive or other explicitly authorized employee.

If you, as the applicant, are not authorized to sign the Bluetooth SIG Membership Agreements, you can add an authorized signer to the membership application; this authorized signer will be notified that they have been added and prompted to sign the membership agreements.

If you have been authorized to sign on behalf of your company, you will be asked to provide proof of authorization.

Review and Agree/Sign the Bluetooth SIG Membership Agreements:

Once a Bluetooth SIG staff member has reviewed and approved your membership application, you or your authorized signer will be prompted to review and agree/sign the Bluetooth SIG Membership Agreements.

The Bluetooth SIG uses both click-to-agree and physical versions of our membership agreements; your company’s jurisdiction of formation will help determine which version of our membership agreements you will be required to complete.

Click-to-Agree:

To help ensure your company understands the obligation of Bluetooth SIG membership, you will be prompted to download and review the current versions of the Bluetooth SIG Membership Agreements.

Once you have read and understood the Bluetooth SIG Membership Agreements, you will be required to review and click to agree to the terms before we can accept your signature.

Physical Signature:

To physically sign our agreements, you will be required to download the Bluetooth SIG Membership Agreements and then upload the agreements with the signature of your company’s authorized signer; each agreement must be uploaded in full to your application. If any pages or signature information is missing, a Bluetooth SIG staff member will return the application to your signer to correct the membership agreements.
