Create and share custom emojis with your organization through Google Chat. Use your custom emojis to personalize messages and share your team’s culture.

Important:

• Custom emojis are only available for work and school accounts.
• Your administrator can turn custom emojis on or off. Find out who your administrator is.
• You can’t share custom emojis with people outside your organization.

Create a custom emoji

1. On your computer, go to Google Chat or Gmail.
2. Open a chat conversation.
3. At the bottom right, click Add emoji .
4. Next to “Search emojis,” click Create Upload image Save.

Use custom emojis in Chat

1. On your computer, go to Google Chat or Gmail.
2. Open a chat conversation.
3. At the bottom right, click Add emoji .
4. Click on Custom emojis to open all of your organization’s custom emojis.

Tip: You can hover over a custom emoji to see its name.

Find your custom emojis

1. On your computer, go to Google Chat or Gmail.
2. Open a chat conversation.
3. At the bottom right, click Add emoji .
4. Click Custom emojis Manage.

Tip: You can search for custom emojis by name.

Delete your custom emojis

Important:

• When you delete a custom emoji, it’s removed for everyone in your organization. The emoji is replaced in messages or reactions.
• You can only delete custom emojis you create.
• Emoji managers can delete custom emojis created by anyone in the organization.

To delete a custom emoji:

1. On your computer, go to Google Chat or Gmail.
2. Open a chat conversation.
3. At the bottom right, click Add emoji .
4. Click Custom emojis Manage.
5. To the right of the emoji, click Delete Delete.

Find custom emojis in your organization

As an emoji manager, you can:

• Find custom emojis people in your organization create.
• Spot the emoji’s:
  • Image
  • Name
  • Creator's name
  • Creation date

To find a custom emoji:

1. On your computer, go to Google Chat or Gmail.
2. Click Settings Manage custom emoji.

Tip: You can search for emojis by name in the search bar.

Delete custom emojis in your organization

As an emoji manager, you can delete emojis that are problematic or don’t meet your organization’s guidelines.

Important: Deleted emojis are removed from messages and reactions. No one in the organization can share or use them.

1. On your computer, go to Google Chat or Gmail.
2. Click Settings Manage custom emoji.
3. To the right of the emoji you want to delete, click More actions Delete emoji Delete.
