We offer several paid membership options for YouTube. After upgrading or switching from one membership option to another, you may find that you're getting double billed. Some of our paid membership options automatically give access to other subscriptions too, so you can possibly save money by canceling the standalone subscription.

How to fix a duplicate subscription

If you accidentally signed up for YouTube Premium and YouTube Music Premium: You can possibly save money by canceling your YouTube Music membership because it’s included in your YouTube Premium membership. If you signed up for YouTube Music Premium with Apple, cancel your membership through Apple. If you signed up with YouTube, learn how to cancel your membership.

YouTube Premium and Google One

If you have a Google One plan that includes YouTube Premium or have added it as an add-on, you may find that you have a duplicate standalone subscription. Standalone subscriptions are not automatically canceled when you join these plans, and you may need to manage them manually to avoid being double-billed.

If you’re a Google AI Pro member who’s:

Tip: You might already have a paid subscription if you signed up directly through YouTube, via a third-party YouTube partner provider, or through a previous Google One add-on.

If you’re unable to purchase a standalone YouTube Premium or YouTube Music Premium plan, it may be because you recently canceled a previous subscription which is still active until the end of that billing cycle. You'll need to wait for your previous YouTube Premium or YouTube Music Premium subscription billing period to end before you can sign up for a new individual or family plan. Once your current benefits expire, you can then sign up for a new plan of your choice through the YouTube website or app.

Managing Duplicate Subscriptions

To stop paying for two subscriptions, follow these steps:

  1. Go to your Purchases and memberships page.
  2. Find the standalone YouTube Premium or Premium Lite subscription you want to cancel.
  3. Select Manage membership.
  4. Select Deactivate to cancel the membership.

If you cancel your Google One plan, any YouTube Premium add-on or benefit included with that plan will also end at the end of your billing cycle.
