Katie McLaughlin Breaks Her Own 100 Fly National HS Record at CIF-SS Division 1 Finals (original) (raw)

2015 CALIFORNIA INTERSCHOLASTIC FEDERATION SOUTHERN SECTION SWIMMING & DIVING CHAMPIONSHIPS – DIVISION I

Santa Margarita senior Katie McLaughlin reclaims the overall high school record in the 100 butterfly with her winning time of 51.53. She established the previous independent high school record last year at the same meet with a 51.78. At that time, the overall record was 51.92. Earlier this school year, however, Beata Nelson, lowered the public school and McLaughlin’s overall record to 51.70.

McLaughlin’s swim tonight reclaims the overall HS record in the girls 100 butterfly. Earlier in the session, she also won the girl’s 200 freestyle with a time of 1:43.01.

Mclaughlin wasn’t the only swimmer at the CIF-SS Division 1 meet. Abbey Weitzeil also lowered the public HS records in the 50 and 100 freestyle.
