Mayhaps we'll try a question o' the month?
Reading bad_rpers_suck on a daily basis gets me to thinking about the problem characters/players in our own games. We have them. Sometimes we are a player beside them and sometimes we are GOD and must dish out our own brand of justice.
How do you deal with problem characters/players in your games both as a player and a G.O.D.? Are there any particular ways you have dealt with such people that warrant a good storytelling? I know it's kinda silly to ask, since we share the same gaming circles, but hey, I thought I'd give it a try.

1:53PM - Injured reserve.
SO.......Monday morning I was putting up the truck at work and hear a *pop*, *snap*, tear sound in my lower back, INSTANTLY followed by a huge need to find the bathroom. I almost had a serious accident for realz. After that I spent the rest of the day in hell awful pain and immobility. I finally went to the clinic at 430 and spent pretty much 2 hours there and another hour waiting for perscription funtime. I also received a shot in MY GOR'RAM ASS. Shot in my ass that was administerd by a nurse who happened to have been a guest in my resturant the day before. anyway, no game this week was to be had.

1:13PM - It's that "time" again
OKay I said I was gonna try and keep up on this community adn here goes my valiant attempt: Question of the month...well more like question of whenever I or Bee feel like it but here it is anyways.
Look through any role playing game long enough and you start to see that maybe the creators were playing favorites with a certain race or class. For example, in Dungeons and Dragons, I like elves and all, but how many subraces does one need to enjoy them? And how many feats geared towards arcane magic casters do I have to thumb past before I get to something worthwhile to my class.
Pick ANY game you've played and share what you think is the most over-rated and under-reated class, race, clan, sect, tribe, character type, ect. Hell, choose to demote and promote as many things as you like, just make sure to explain why.

11:13PM - Hello!
Hello all.. First post, be gentle.
To make a long story short, I've got loads of ideas for games, but our gaming group has limited free time and our official DM-- who is brilliant and is fellated with praise on a regular basis so that the rest of us can indulge in his sweet, sweet storytelling genius and get our Ars Magica fix every week-- has been running a chronicle that has spanned no less than six games and four systems, and I just don't have enough players to actually run them.
The worst part is, I don't have anyone to really workshop with when I come up with things that I think are brilliant, but maybe nobody agrees (Had a nasty run-in with an interpretation of the nature of True Faith awhile back, killed the game entirely).
So, I joined here. Looking forward to good times, hopefully.

3:13PM - END OF THE YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Besides 'we need to game more', does anyone have any gaming new year's resolutions?
I do. I want to do my research and run more stuff in actual places and times in history. With events happening around the characters that really happened in history. I guess like table top re-enacting....but no one can be the actual famous people/groups, just other people in the times.

6:56AM - December!
As we all know there are RPG's for a TON of our favourite stuff. From the standard Fantasy world to Star Trek, Farscape, vampires, faries, and even some based on some of our fave book series'.
What is one setting you have never played in and would like to either see an RPG for or if there is one, play it?

ok, so chex it out.
I got a new community called gods_with_pens, it is an offshoot of table_of_gods. You all should chex it out. It's basically a board for the spread and posting of all the creative shit you people do. By hand, by computer, by voice, whatever you want. Let's do this!

7:48AM - WoD
So George started his World of Darkeness campaign last Wednesday. We Played two sessions so far and it's fucking great. I convinced him to get on LJ to post game notes and he is having it where we can post our own notes on his lj for xp's, which is cool. Eventually everyone breaks down and goes on this damn website. I am amused.
Anyhow, I am really enjoying my character and actually doing some honest to God ROLEPLAYING. Horray. So far Bear, Jay, Justin, Jeremiah, Pizzle, and George are in it for sure. I think I didn't forget anyone?
Everyone is in character, Justin and Bear are doing voice accents, we already have group trust and tension, everyone is really into it. Plus George knows the rules, which is nice.
I think I might actually be into a White Wolf game. hmmmm? Never say never huh?
here's a few gems from the first couple sessions:
"We'd like to start off with a sampler please." - Arienne (Bee)
"and I'm gonna roll inlike an English Gentleman.....from Hell" - Basher (Justin)
"I'm gonna throw my shit in a garbage bag like Santa Claus" - Basher (Justin)
"We can do it......with technology" - Ken (pizzle)
"I mean not my kids, they're my sister's kids" - Arienne (bee)
"I'm gonna be a crazy midget" - Mr.Arthur (Jer)
"NO." - Gravitov (Robert)
"I don't wanna be a vampire. Don't fuck with my storyline George" - Justin

8:03PM - The Heist
Okay, we got past the first part. So far the game is sweet. I can already see where were gonna get screwed, but oh well. It will just make The Caper even sweeter.
- Do you think your character will become a vampire?
- If so, what clan and covenant?

8:50PM - A Feast For Crows
Woo, reading the damn book and it's GOOD fuckers. GOOD GOOD GOOD!!! Alright, here is the questions.
1. Who is your favorite house?
2. Who is your favorite character?
3. Which house do you beleive will win Westeros?
My answers follow:
1. The Martells of Dorne.
2. Tyrion Lannister
3. I honestly beleive somehow the the Starks will make a comeback, but right now I'm making a couple bets on the Greyjoys or Daenerys Targaryen. I'm putting 60 40 odds on that, favoring Daenerys Targaryen.
And I can't spell that shit.
The Red Viper is still dead, tears.
I miss the Hound.

5:43PM - November!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So most of us here are not only fans of tabletop gaming, but console, pc, board games, as well as other forms of dork media, such as comic books and graphic novels.
The topic is:
What do you think about the current (past 15 years really) trend of adapting these things into movies?
You have your good - The Crow
and your not so good - Dungeons and Dragons
Tons of comic books have already been produced, and now they are branching into video games with Doom, Halo, and God of War. Also, going back to the RPG's of old with a movie based on Hunter.
opinions? examples of good and not so good?.......GO!

5:05PM - "I thought that dreadful song would never end," said the Queen of Thorns,
"But look, here comes my cheese."
*************
So yesterday at work we learned that girls don't know anything about video games. Interesting.
we also heard this tidbit....
"you obviously don't know anything about Roleplaying."
- coming from a guy who plays EverQuest (the original one) and later comes to find out he thinks Roleplying means being able to kill a higher level character than you are. I said, and very loudly at that, "You are the type of people that ruin good fun." Then proceeded to turn about and say very loudly, "I fucking hate power gamers.", Which Sean found amusing and of course the everqueer had no clue what I was talking about.
I attempted to explain the definition of Roleplaying, to no avail. He kept talking of winning (I don't know if that meant the game, or what.) Then the conversation turned into how much Warcraft sucks compared to EverQuest, even though he has never played it and how since I only played EverQuest a bit there's no way I could get into it without getting to at least level 45 and how if you know if you like a game in the first few levels it's too easy and it sucks. To which I only had this....I shouldn't have to waste a couple months of time and online fees to simply decide if I like a game.
Any how....F EverQuest, F power gamers, F fanboys, F sexual prejudice in the gaming community, and F closing on Mondays...my gaming night.
What I wouldn't give for a nice silence spell.
