A fantastic opportunity to see the tall ships Lady Washington and Hawaiian Chieftain in Eureka, California.
Owned by Grays Harbor Historical Seaport Authority, the tall ships Lady Washington and Hawaiian Chieftain operate to both promote and preserve maritime history and traditions by providing hands-on Sail Training and educational opportunities for adults and children alike.
Whilst the design of Hawaiian Chieftain was influenced by early colonial passenger and Atlantic coast packet service vessels, Lady Washington is a replica of her namesake 18th Century brig, which was the first US flagged vessel to visit Japan, Honolulu and Hong Kong, pioneering the pan-pacific trade.
Whilst in Eureka these beautiful tall ships will likely be offering a unique historical experience - battle sails. A family-friendly experience of tall ships sailing, complete with plenty of rope handling, shanty singing and perhaps even some cannon fire!
For details of the public opening hours and the battle sail schedule please refer to the official website as both are ticketed events that may require booking in advance.
Please note all dates may be subject to change and that in certain cases not all vessels may be visiting for the full date range given. Make sure to check official channels for updates and further details.
