Three millennia later, I watched the Who I've missed (which means: the last few Tennant specials, the end of Ten, ALL OF MATT SMITH).

Can we talk about this?

If anyone had told me that Natalie Morales & Tim "I was a Carnivale badass" DeKay were on White Collar, I would've been watching it much much sooner.

and Stanford Blatch from Sex & The City I guess

Current creative status: working on a novella (RELIGIOUS APOCALYPSE HUZZAH) when I am not compulsively cooking / baking / making up for 3 years of eating chicken nuggets & pizza & beer for breakfast.

I made a pie today. (100% from scratch!) Also worked out subplots (elaborate familial entanglements are elaborate). I am trying this wack thing where you plot your plot before you write the words. It's goin' okay.

Expect another update in half a year.

I am sure most of you have already seen this, but I think it bears passing on, so:

Peter Watts, Canadian SF writer, arrested & beaten by the US Border Patrol.

I wish I could say something that isn't angry that doesn't involve pounding the keyboard but I don't think there is.

I have an exam in four hours that I haven't studied for (for a class that I don't attend with readings that I don't read) & a partially completed brigits_flame entry that probably won't complete itself in the next two hours, as in, before it's due.

And I wish I could say I was studying for the exam but I am not.

Things that are writing-pertinent:

1. Did not win Nanowrimo, did not make it past week one. At least this time, my legitimate excuses were legitimate (assignments projects essays literally NO breathing time for a hundred bazillion years).

2. I am still planning to write a short story in which DINOSAURS make a cameo. Hopefully before the end of December.

3. And a script. Or two.

4. I have a scant twelve (or less?) hours to write my brigits_flame entry, because my time management skills are STILL fantastic.

Must wait another year to use Nanowrimo icons, and this makes me a little sad.

1. Wordcount at the end of day one: 2118.

2. I have abandoned the idea of DINOSAURS for the lower concept of this in novel form. Which equals Eve as a gangster and angry betrayed children, and not a whole lot else. Good start? Good start.

3. Still no title. Have come up with winners like "Original Sin" (because it's about Eve get it get it) and "How Carlos Became a Douchebag Gangster" (because vomiting words is what Nano is Really About). Will get back to you when I have something slightly less embarrassing.

4. Finally, I can use my Nanowrimo-themed icons! Today is a good day.

Dear internets diary:

Let this be a note that I will NEVER EVER AGAIN start an entry two hours before the deadline.
