The addition of these buildings caused an increase in runoff water by many impermeable layers and reduced number of green open space, and the water could not absorb/infiltrate to soil otherwise become a surface run off. We need a way to manage and develop the storm water to overcome water runoff caused by rainwater. Zero delta Q policy is the requirement that each building should not result in an increase in water debit to the drainage system or river flow system. Water debit due to additional (runoff) development due to development) must be withheld so that the additional debit (ΔQ) is zero. The aim of this study is to reduce the surface flow of an urban settlement area by applying technology from the concept of Zero Runoff in the area. The benefits of this research are to provide alternative solutions for how to absorb and accommodate the maximum flow of surface runoff into the ground with the application of Zero Runoff concept technology.

The use of techniques based on geographic information systems (GIS) provides a lot of convenience for depicting potential inundation. This study aims to analyze the spatial distribution of floods by simulating the amount of water discharge in the Akelaka watershed. Design/methodology/approach: The analysis method of morphometry, hydrology, and hydraulics is the principle in the review that will be carried out. The first approach uses a GIS-based application, while periodic rainfall forecasting for five and 25 years utilizes a statistical system. The return flood discharge was determined using a synthetic unit hydrograph analysis based on the morphometric examination results and the rainfall frequency. The application of the Hydraulic Engineering Corps-River Analysis System (HEC-RAS) 2 D was done to estimate the potential inundation area. Findings: The results show that the 5-year (Q5) and 25-year (Q25) return flood discharge periods are 132.33 m3/s and 166.27 m3/s, which can cause flooding in a region of 33.97 ha and 41.14 ha, respectively.

This will be decreased soil and soil water discharge due to large quantities of consumption. Areas of Indonesia have a high rainfall, i.e. 2, 000-4, 000 mm/year, should not have to worry about the availability of clean water. The problem faced is that there is no adequate management of rainwater. Based on these problems, it is necessary to develop methods of managing rainwater, harvesting and utilizing rainwater to meet the needs of clean water and water conservation for the sustainability of the carrying capacity of the environment. By calculating using 15 years daily rainfall data and roofing area as a catchment area to obtain the volume of potential water. The aim of this research is to analyze the amount of rainwater volume that can be accommodated in the rainwater harvesting system and to be processed as a clean water consumption.

An analytical technique based on a watershed's morphometric properties is a method for those without a gauge, particularly in small-scale watersheds. Design/methodology/approach: The synthetic unit hydrograph (HSS) approach is used in this study to analyze flood output. This study was conducted in the Akelaka watershed, a sub-watershed of Tayawi. This analysis relies on spatial and attributes data. A spatial study of watershed morphometric properties was obtained by integrating digital elevation model (DEM) data into geographic information system-based applications (GIS). Meanwhile, using rainfall data from 2019 to 2021, a statistical approach is used to calculate the design rainfall intensity, which is then used as an input variable in the HSS analysis. Findings: The findings of hydrographic analysis using Nakayasu HSS demonstrate that the peak flood time (Tp) is 2.8 hours with a maximum flood discharge (Qp) of 56.636 m3/s, 76, 987 m3/s, 88,091 m3/s, and 101,279 m3/s for return periods of two years, five years, ten years, and 25 years.

Efforts to reduce the impact are very important to minimize economic losses. However, large-scale attempts by widening rivers and land acquisition are difficult to implement, especially in urban areas. It requires the management of rainwater runoff at the source. The new paradigm for sustainable urban drainage systems is the LID (low impact development) concept, which approaches hydrology as a framework, considers micromanagement, and controls rainwater at its source. Design/methodology/approach: It also uses simple non-structural methods to create a multifunctional area. Findings: LID can handle the flood water level and volume as well as the rise and fall of the base flow that will be released to the downstream site and filter waste. Its application consists of several units that depend on local needs, such as porous and semi-permeable pavements, retention and detention reservoirs, wetlands, infiltration trench, ditch, gulley, and well. It also includes a rooftop reservoir, green roofing, rainwater reuse, underground reservoir, grassed strips, and bioswale.

From the wide potential of dry lands in Indonesia (especially in Tanimbar Island Regency, Maluku Province), it is classified as quite high, but there are problems with water availability and socio-economic. One of the potential irrigation areas in Kandar sub-district because it does not yet have an appropriate irrigation system, and because of the limited rainfall in Kandar makes it a suitable place for an irrigation in the dry land. To analyze the proper irrigation network in the Kandar irrigation area, primary and secondary data were collected. From the data collected then analyzed, we obtained water balance in the Kandar irrigation area with two cropping patterns, namely: Corn-Peanut-Nutmeg and Corn-Corn-Peanuts experienced surplus from January-June and deficit in July-December. From the irrigation area of 1101.23 ha, the area is divided into 5 plots in accordance with the standard. After that, an overall water requirement of 0.616 l/sec is calculated, which means Weslyeta Irrigation System is sufficient for irrigation. Then we calculate the dimensions of the required canal and building dimensions, and we obtained the length of the primary canal is 3383m and the length of the secondary canal is 3053m.

There are about 8500 species of fish and 1300 of them are fish that live in fresh water. This fish diversity is one of the factors that triggers the growth of the economic sector in the hobby sector in the form of maintaining ornamental fish. The maintenance of this ornamental fish requires a container so that it can be enjoyed directly. Commonly used containers are aquariums and glassponds. In the process of making this aquarium and glasspond requires glass material. Glass itself has a special property that is transparent but easily broken. The load on the total volume of water accommodated by the aquarium and glasspond is a major factor in the selection of the thickness and type of glass. This research focuses on 8 mm and 12 mm glass thickness for aquarium and 12 mm tempered type for glasspond. By calculating and analyzing the total water load and the strength of the glass in holding the water load, the optimal glass thickness is obtained in water structures such as aquariums and glassponds.

Many factors cause flooding in DKI Jakarta Province, such as heavy rain, blockage of drainage channels by garbage, tides, flooding from higher areas, and others. Lots of losses were caused by this flood, such as damaged roads. Public facilities are also damaged, causing temporary economic paralysis, many residents are sick, it can even cause fatalities. In Pademangan District, several areas are prone to flooding, but strangely, in East Pademangan Village, there is only one place that is affected by floods. The flood in that place has a depth of about 20 cm. So it is necessary to explore why only that place is affected by floods, so that a solution can be found. For that there are several things that need to be analyzed, namely rainfall, channel capacity and the condition of the existing channel. After analyzing everything, it can be concluded that the East Pademangan area is caused by the existing channel capacity which is still unable to accommodate high rainfall. Apart from that, garbage and sediment also cause flooding in this area.

Recycled wastewater has been identified as an alternative source of domestic water. This paper as... more Recycled wastewater has been identified as an alternative source of domestic water. This paper assesses whether the utilization of recycled wastewater produced by an industrial park in Batam Island could reduce the freshwater extraction from the primary source. The analysis is carried out by probing the record of water usage and the sewage treatment plant’s production in the industrial park for almost 2 years. The recycled wastewater’s quality limits its usage only for gardening and toilet flushing. Even if it cannot cover all sorts of activities, utilizing recycled wastewater could conserve freshwater significantly. The industrial park also could reap another benefit by paying less for freshwater extraction. However, the existing plumbing system does not have a specific distribution line for both gardening and flushing. Therefore, the industrial park must rebuild the entire plumbing system lest the recycled wastewater would mix with the clean freshwater and prevent the workers from...

Therefore. a capable drainage system is necessary which comprises drainage channels with adequate capacities as well as pumps with sufficient capacities and operational rules. The study focuses on hydrological and hydraulical analysis on the system of Polder Grogol, West Jakarta. The estimation of design flood discharge employs Soil Conservation Service method with 5 years return period for Semeru and Makaliwe channels. The results of hydraulical analysis shows both channels are still adequate in draining design flood discharge. However, the existing pumping system is no longer sufficient to keep the reservoir’s water level below the bottom of reservoir’s inlet channel. There are several options to lower the reservoir water level. In this study, the approach is to add a new pump with the capacity of 0,25 m3/s wihout changing the formation of existing pumps. The supply of freshwater must be conducted with considerable technical considerations based on co... more The supply of freshwater must be conducted with considerable technical considerations based on community socioeconomic conditions. Thus, the supply of freshwater does not make the community oppose the operation and maintenance. Limbo Island is one of the islands that do not have freshwater potential; hence, people have to fetch water from Taliabu Island, which is about 3 nautical miles away. For this reason, providing freshwater with environmentally friendly technology is necessary. Given technical and operational considerations, the drinking water supply in Limbo Island comprises a system of underwater pipelines with electrical technologies and energy sources that are environmentally friendly and have low operational costs. The system does not require an operator with expertise or special education, such that it can be operated by locals. The supply of freshwater for Limbo Island is constructed with an underwater piping system with a capacity of 30 L/s to serve some of the people of Taliabu and Limbo Islands. The pipe used for crossing the sea is high density polyethylene (HDPE) pipe with a diameter of 110 mm and a nominal pressure specification of 20 bar; it has a thickness of 12 mm, with two pipes with a length of 5,800 m at the bottom of the sea. The flow system in the transmission and distribution pipe is run by gravity; thus, it does not require electrical energy. Electrical energy requirements are used for water treatment processes, such as for drive dozing pumps, mixers, compressors for pneumatic systems, lighting and other electrical needs. These requirements are met by the water energy that is processed through a micro hydropower of 12.5 kW. Micro hydropower strongly supports the operation of the water treatment plan, especially for those whose location is far from access to electrical energy by the electricity company, so that the water treatment plant operations can be carried out continuously and the operating costs are cheaper.

The investigation on an area within Tangerang Regency reveals the recent rainfall data set has higher mean and maximum value than the older one. The newly estimated design rainfall is 1.43 times the old design rainfall. Hence the expansion of the drainage channels is required for the existing system can no longer drain the escalated rainfall. Several studies also support the revision of existing drainage systems in order to adapt the new hydrological regime due to climate changes.

Risk is something that we cannot avoid while doing an investment and those risks may affect the feasibility of the investment to be carried out, therefore in this study the risk is estimated and its effect on the feasibility of the investment are more visible. In this research, an analysis of the feasibility of an office building investment for a natural stone company are carried out using annual revenue data from the related company, moreover the feasibility of the investment is estimated by measuring NPV, IRR, and payback period using the discounted cash flow method. The result of this analysis is carried out using a Monte Carlo Simulation, in order to generate the result of the investment feasibility analysis using the real option valuation method. Therefore, the calculation results of the risk can be avoided and can reduce the NPV and IRR of the investment.

The analysis r...
