1:25AM - Tatra car chase!!
Just got home after seeing the film 'Hostel', a quite a full on horror film by Quentin Tarentino. Not only was it a good film, but it featured a gaggle of Tatra T613's (613/3 I think, though one had metallic hub-caps; T613/2 perhaps?), better yet one of them got raced around chasing an old Volga giving me my long-awaited first listen to a Tatra V8 giving it's all. I was not dissapointed until the film makers decided to smash the up the lovely Tatra. Great V8 sound though, as good as I had imagined. Now if only I could own one.....

10:40PM - Introducing me
Hi, I am an australian guy living in London who has had an ongoing facination with Tatra cars for some time now. The sad side to this is that to date I have never had the opportunity to actually see one for real, let alone get to hear the sound of an air-cooled V8. I am hoping that now that I am in Europe I will get the chance!

4:10AM - Эдмунд Румплер и Tatra
Эдмунд Румплер (Edmund Rumpler) изобрел схему качающейся полуоси/swing axle(приводдная ось маятникового типа)в 1903 г., равно как и W-образный двигатель. Все это он применил на своем Tropfenwagen (1921 г.) У этого "Каплемобиля" есть определенное сходство с Tatra 77-87 - заднее расположение двигателя, аэродинамический кузов, фара-прожектор, центральное расположение руля (прототип Tatra 77).
Кстати, начинал свою карьеру Румплер на автофабрике в Несельдорфе - будущая Tatra.
