Design/methodology/approach The theory of perceived risk and the behavioural finance paradigm were used to develop a conceptual model of retail investors’ initial trust in FRAs. Data collected from 554 young retail investors (YRIs) from Sweden and Malaysia were analysed using structural equation modelling. Findings The results of this study indicate that the amount of public information, social media information-seeking and a rational decision style are significantly related to initial trust in FRAs, which in turn is significantly and positively related to the behavioural intention to use this technology. However, none of the risks under study significantly affect the initial trust in FRAs. Practical implications Information is vital to inducing YRIs to rely on FRAs, so the more public and social media info...

They obtain their preferred tour itineraries with the use of these apps and subsequently choose their tour destinations. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of smart tour itineraries on travelers and explain what drives the continual use of them. Design/methodology/approach-Drawing on the unified theory of acceptance and the use of technology model and experiential consumption (UTAUT), the authors conducted this study in Malaysia with a sample of 307 travelers who are familiar with the use of mobile apps. Findings-The results confirmed that all the UTAUT dimensions except the facilitating condition are significantly related to the intention to use the itinerary. Both the hedonic and utilitarian values in personal consumption significantly motivate the travelers in the behavioral intention to use the itinerary. Originality/value-This paper offers a good explanation of how the itinerary plans can be used by examining the theories behind the current app's usage. Many researchers have examined the adoption of the smart travel apps, which has rarely been tied to the antecedents that drive how the travelers use itineraries that are designed by the smart travel apps. This study contributes to the research regarding using the mobile travel apps by developing an integrative model to explain the traveler intentions to use smart travel itineraries.

Research paper thumbnail of Gender differences and consumer's repurchase intention: the impact of trust propensity, usefulness and ease of use for implication of innovative online retail

International Journal of Innovation and Learning, 2015

The importance of online consumer behavioural retention among different group has been recognised... more The importance of online consumer behavioural retention among different group has been recognised as an issue for online marketer in light of expansion of e-commerce and implication for online retailing innovativeness and continuous improvements. As such, gender differences beg attention for further studies in internet retiling context. This study endeavours to examine the impact of perceived ease of use (PEOU), perceived usefulness (PU) and trust propensity on repurchase intention (RI) in which the role of gender differences is concerned with implication of website innovativeness. The online and offline surveys among Malaysian online shoppers performed to empirically test the proposed research framework with a total of 300 valid questionnaires. The findings suggest that there is significant difference between males and females in determining RI, thus, gender can be used to predict RI. Moreover, PU and trust propensity found to be key predictor factors in online shopping behavioural intention while PEOU does not. Specifically, gender differences between males and females found higher in trust propensity rather than PU, PEOU and overall RI. The social implication, practical implication and theoretical contribution of research with concern of limitation are discussed.

The aim of this study is to examine online RI, specifically to examine the impact of prepurchase user perceptions of attributes, pre-purchase user attitudes and postpurchase user attitudes on RI. This study managed to collect 318 completed online questionnaires from internet shoppers. Multiple Regression Analysis (Stepwise Method) was deployed to statistically test the proposed hypotheses. We found that perceived value and perceived risk are not predictor factors towards RI among experienced online shoppers. Interestingly, PU, PEOU, privacy concern, internet literacy/affinity and satisfaction were positively significant factors in predicting RI. This study considers a few studies' attempts to empirically examine the impact of pre-purchase user perceptions of attributes, pre-purchase user attitudes and post-purchase user attitudes on repurchase intention. The research limitations, contribution and managerial implications are discussed.
