HELP!!! with Tech Writing Classes I'm currently enrolled in a tech writing class and we are writing a writing style guide for our college students and faculty as a class project. I am in the group covering visual elements. Unfortunately, the 2 guys in my group with me are "wing it" kinda guys so we have a really weak outline. I'm currently discussing bulleted and enumerated lists and graphs, tables, and charts. I am looking on recommendations for other visual elements to discuss as I need to total 15 pages (3 sections of 5 pages). Does anyone have an recommendations?

Abstracts vs. Introductions In an analytical report, how would you clarify the difference between an abstract and an introduction? Based on some samples I've seen, often the introduction seems to contain a summary of methodology/findings, etc. I'm having trouble articulating to my students how they're necessarily different.

What units or genres do you teach? So what units or genres do you teach in your technical/professional writing classes? I'm particularly interested if you teach an intro class.
I'm doing job packets (resumes, coverletters), instructions, proposals and analytical reports. Howver, I'm thinking of changing it for next semester.
