AUSTIN, Texas – No. 1 Texas Baseball got the series win against Alabama with another shutout, 2-0, at UFCU Disch-Falk Field on Saturday. The Longhorns (7-0) will go for the series sweep, with Tanner Witt on the mound facing Crimson Tide starting pitcher Grayson Hitt on Sunday at 1 p.m.

Tristan Stevens had another great outing, with six shutout innings, four strikeouts, zero walks and allowing only four hits. Over his first two starts of the season, Stevens has pitched 12 scoreless innings with seven strikeouts.

Freshman Luke Harrison pitched great in relief for the Longhorns, throwing three scoreless innings with four strikeouts. Harrison earned his first career save to close out the win for the Longhorns.

Douglas Hodo III got Texas on the board in the third inning with a double to right center field, scoring Trey Faltine, who also hit a double in the inning.

Austin Todd gave the Longhorns a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the fourth, hitting an RBI single to score Ivan Melendez. Melendez started the inning with a single and moved to second on a sacrifice bunt from Mitchell Daly.

Melendez and Faltine both went 1-for-3 with one run each, while Hodo and Todd both went 1-for-4 with an RBI.

Texas kept the shutout to the end as Harrison got left fielder Tommy Seidl to hit a fly out to center field for Hodo to put out his fourth batter, closing the game with the Crimson Tide.

The Texas pitching staff recorded its fourth shutout of the season and has now logged 63 innings pitched and allowed just three earned runs.
