Well, turns out my mother is a fan of the original fan fic (I blame myself for actually introducing her to fanfic in the first place). Anyway, we got talking about people taking fanfic and altering it so that it is publishable as an independent book. And well, that's what I have decided to do. The two original fiction works I've been concentrating on for the past year or so haven't really gotten anywhere. I only vaguely know where I want to go with them and with everything else going on in my personal life, I'm finding the time & energy to sit at write very hard to come by. Therefore, I have decided to publish To Love A Rose. Those of you who have read it will know that this is the fic that made me want to write my own stuff in the first place. And while I always wanted to keep it as a piece of fanfiction, what with being my favourite that I've ever written, I have now come to the conclusion that it would be perfect as my first published piece. However, that unfortunately means I will have to delete it from the internet. This won't happen imminently, but it will happen within the next few months. So, if you wish to keep the fanfiction, please go here to my AO3 account and download it. And once again, thanks to you all for your support over the years. rysito_big_bangTags:non-fiction Hola! Just thought I'd let you all know that I am now a member of Archive of Our Own and have begun to upload my fics onto there. I'll be starting with my most popular, then the rest of my multi chaptered fics. Editing my older fics - aka badly written fics - is painful at best, but I shall try my best to get them all up to standard and uploaded. I have no idea how long it's going to take as my personal life & job is really taking off at the moment, but I'll get there. The majority of my time is taken up by my job now, and when I’m not there, I’m hiding under my duvet and hoping that no one asks me to do anything as I’m so exhausted. And when I do have spare time, I’m using it to actually read instead of write; proper books too, not just fanfic … shock-horror! I know :)Secondly, without all of you supporting me and encouraging me and just reading what I write, letting me know that at least one person enjoys it, I would never have gotten as far with writing as I have. From my very first fic Proliferous to my latest, Fated For Love, the difference in standard of writing just astounds me and I would never have gotten that far if it wasn’t for you sticking with me for the past six years. That being said, I have decided to take your support and encouragement and run with it. I am leaving fanfic for an unspecified – if not permanently – amount of time to concentrate on writing my own stuff and getting published. I, unfortunately can’t do both and getting published is a huge dream of mine. Ironically, I wouldn’t have actually thought about writing my own stuff if not for your reaction to my AU fics. But now that I’ve started writing original fic, I have become a bit addicted. Being able to create your own world and characters within it, is one of the most pleasurable things a writer can do. I have promised myself that I will take part in the scifibigbang every year, so that I’m at least getting something out there – who knows if I will ever be published – so I hopefully won’t be disappearing completely. Also, I’d like to reiterate that memberships to this archive are closed as there are no entries locked to members any more.
